DIY Carpet Board Trucks - Cheap & Awesome!

Carpet boarding is a great way to learn skate tricks, but it's so tough to get any pop. I've been using some inexpensive "trucks" made of PVC pipe - so fun to "skate" and easy to DIY.

Thanks for this dude! Just finished building it and have done a bunch of tricks already. Game changer from just a board on carpet and a big plus as its cheap and easy. Rainy days about to be a lot more fun!

This is perfect content for me, I am in exact same situation as you - I even thought of making some youtube vids but you're stuff is great so I'll stick to watching an commenting.

I like the content. It highlights the fact that skaters hit they're prime somewhere in between high school and college, what's considering all of the mature things we could be doing, it's kinda childish. It's for fun and nothing else. Being oblivious to social standards or expectations other than the ones that you set your self, keeps you from being constantly concerned about something and furrowing your brows for 20 years until you look like someone's Grandpa. Skaters don't get old they just get brittle and it's not until they're mid-fifties that death starts to reclaim they soul and even then it's an up hill battle. It's not skate or die. It's skate and die. 🚧

I remember just lubing some worn out bearings with superglue so they wouldn't move and I used that indoors. 😂 Like you said though, it seems like that much height indoors is a bit too much for some reason, idk why. I ended up taking the wheels off and just using it on the trucks but I never thought of something like this, good idea lmao. Love the content bro, cant wait for future uploads. 🛹🛹🛹

freaking cool man. Combine with some rubber griptape and you can do tricks barefoot as well as just inside. I may just have to....

You might try getting a small piece of black iron pipe, one that weighs close to a set of trucks and fits inside the PCV, drill and tap it (what's skate hardware? #6? #8? -32). Then, put it inside the PVC and use it to lock it all down. Then, you get the weight, the height, and the PVC.

I like this! But I think I'm going to take 2 small pieces of square wood to attach through all 4 truck screw holes and cut a ditch down the middle to make the PVC sit exactly where the wheels would actually be

@skateagain: I tried your idea but must have chosen a wrong type of pipe. First step on the board, the pipe cracked. I didn't even do a trick. Can you specify the type of pipe you used? Thanks.

I just made one 😊 Is there a reason you cut the angle on the pvc? Thank you
@SkateAgain
@SkateAgain Год назад
No real reason, sort of trying to match the shape of a classic wheel.
@cptcarl83
@cptcarl83 2 года назад
What did you do to get the angle on the PVC? And what did you do to mark it? A small line? Did you go around?
@SkateAgain
@SkateAgain 2 года назад
Yeah, just a pencil to mark it and hand cut at an angle. It doesn't have to be perfect.

@@SkateAgain Awesome idea and thanks for sharing - I'll be making these on the weekend. Quick question: Why did you angle the PVC tubing? To make it easier to pivot and flip?

I suspect it will make it less manageable as a carpet board. Now I'm almost getting too much pop on the tre's.

why dont you skate on carpet with the wheels and trucks on just use brand new wheels

So all the things in life you could be you brought yourself to the internet to be a poser? No true skater would hate on a man trying to help others develop better ways to learn. Whatever trick you learn its all a pose. You aren’t about helping others. You only want to give back to skating things you mimicked from others. That’s great nobody hated on you for being a student all about themself. The second you realize literally that’s all you are maybe you will stop posing and be someone who never hates on people teaching others. What have you given back to skating that was yours fam? Nothing? Then shut up

Wouldnt it make sense to have the board raise up off the ground as far as regular trucks with wheels...?
@SkateAgain
@SkateAgain 9 месяцев назад
Yeah, I think that would be valuable too. This is a bit more manageable than a normal setup, because its lighter and closer to the ground. Experiment with it and let us know what you find!
