I wasn't aware of wood canvas panels. These, plus hinges and small nails or screws, would be really useful for a variety of gifts. You could use them to create a DIY artist kit with supplies like paint, paper, pencils, drawing books with tutorials, paint brushes, a pallette etc. The kit could be modified for young children to teens. Or it could be used to create a DIY craft kit by putting age-appropriate sewing supplies; fabric; yarn; crochet hooks; knitting needles; felt; glue; a hot glue gun and glue sticks; etc. Lots of fun! I'm not sure if creating diy art or craft kits are cheaper than buying the pre-made ones, but they can be tailored to a child's or friend's specific interests and needs. I have to add a plug for crochet or knitting. It doesn't take too long to learn and to become proficient at it. You can often create last minute gifts for people of all ages if you learn how to crochet or knit. 🙂
