I'm 60 yes old, and these would be great to use for my incontinence problem.

Nice video, I've never seen someone using one of those washable incontinece bed pads. I've repurposed a waterproof fitted sheet that I used to put on my kids' beds. But that's not really absorbent in itself, it's shiny (PUL) on one side and terry on the top, and it was meant to go under the normal fitted sheet. It does work great as a backer for pads, as the thin terry stops the pad from sliding. Now I've found the same bed pad on amazon that you show in the video, but it doesn't say anywhere what material it's made of. I bet the blue back layer is PUL, but does the packet say what the absorbent material is? I'd like to know before I order one. It's a great find as you can cut many cores for period pads from one bed pad. Happy sewing everyone!

What a great idea, have you thought about using flannel fabric which is lovely and soft and absorbs moisture well. I have a colostomy and I make bag covers in flannel fabric.

Funny that you said “you can just chuck them in the wash...” When I worked in the medical field, we called those absorbent (incontinence) pads “chucks.” :) Great video. Thank you for sharing!

Lol I am in England and haven't heard bed pads called chucks, but now I know your term for them I will start referring to them as chucks, I am meeting with an incontinence nurse this morning I will ask if she has heard the term chucks thanks for your comment have a good day happy crafting 🌼

I bought some from Amazon, and what I find is that they turn themselves upside down so the snapped part is inside your crotch...very annoying! What kind of adhesive material can be used on the bigger ends to help keep them in place?

Thanks for the video! Is the patterned part a flannel fabric or just Cotten fabric?

Wow this is so brilliant. Thanks for sharing. I have been wanting to make these but had no clue where to start. Please Whats the name of the insert fabrics? I have an extremely heavy flow so definitely need customised ones.

Hi there glad u like my video you can buy extra insert absorbable material called zorb to add extra layers for a heavier flow I found a site called cuddleplushfabrics.co.uk that sells zorb original for £14 per meter, so that would get a lot of extra layers hope this help happy crafting 🌼
