To anyone who's struggling to figure this out... I find it easiest to lay the shirt horizontally and front-side down, then "pinch" the back in the middle (again, horizontally) and lift up. *Make sure the two panels of fabric separate* Viola, you're now ready to start cutting. Start from the folded edge you've just made by "pinching" then cut up towards the side-seam. It's really not complicated, I understand the video doesn't show this step.. but it's actually quite simple if you just think about it... just a little.. lol

i did this but on both sides under my armpit down and then turned the top into a halter. im really happy the way it turned out thank you so much for this video!!
Anna Fez I did the same thing with mine! On the sides I did it from small to big and at the end of the shirt I did braids and added a charm to each braid. I love how my shirt turned out!

ignore the front of the shirt (it will be pulled out of the way) and fold the BACK of the t shirt in half -- the center of the BACK will become your "fold" and the two side seams will become where the edges meet. The front just sort of lays but is pulled away from the back (so it doesn't get sliced into). Hope this helps?

While this looks cool, I wouldn’t do this on a shirt I like, especially not if it’s a tee material. I make rugs from old clothes, When you cut tee material into strips, and pull, They triple in length, After wearing this shirt once, It would stretch out to the point of being too big.
