DIY: CO2 System For Aquarium (easy and cheap) 

actually to get the most out of your citric acid and baking soda, use 1 part of citric acid with 3 parts of baking soda. The balanced reaction is this: C6H8O7 (citric acid) + 3NaHCO3 (Baking soda) = Na3C6H5O7 + 3H20 + 3CO2. With this you would have no residue left on both sides. I use 60 gram citric acid and 185 grams of baking soda ( 5 grams more to make sure all the citric acid has reacted)

Just made one. It is cheap to make, even cheaper to mantain and works like a charm. I have one carpet type plant so i will see how it goes now. Also pto tip, I used T type valve which is not precise, so I plan to get needle valve if I can in time. I will go likw this without buble counter for now, but I presume I will need to buy drop checker.

I used the same method yesterday but all the citric acid water from bottle A entered in bottle B with baking soda in about half hour is this normal ? And the pressure was going up minute by minute afraid that bottles were gonna explode

Hi, I did the same thing as you did and it worked nicely. But, when I stop at night by closing the valve, there is a reverse flow (water enters the pipe) even though I have a check valve. How do we avoid this? and also, my Co2 lasts for only 3-4 days. How to extend the duration
