Hey girl! I work for Anthropologie and I’ve actually had to make a mobile display before - the biggest advice I can give is to build it from the bottom up not the top down! Building it from the bottom up means that anything you add on top doesn’t affect the weight distribution of what’s below! It’s like magic haha

One Christmas my kids helped make dozens of snowflakes that we hung from the ceiling like in the movie "Elf". It was cheap magic and we've been doing a version of it every year since and leave them up till spring. Mobiles do the same, bring life and light to a corner. Your first attempt turned out magical!!

Pro tip on Cricut Design Space: no need to turn layers on/off before cutting, Cricut will do that work for you! Keep all layers turned on and click "Make" - Design Space will automatically sort your shapes by color onto separate mats. Speeds up the cutting time a bit! Love your videos Dani! :)

I've always adored Alexander Caldor mobiles (and stabiles) and wanted to make some myself. As a kid, making a mobile in school in art class was my favorite. The way we did the balancing was using thread to hang items from -- thread wrapped around the dowels, and you slide the wrapped thread slightly along the dowel to shift the balance. Much harder to do the balancing with your chains and little screw eyes but so beautiful! Loved your mobile so much!

For the mobile, you can also lay it flat while you’re making the designs you want, then move the fulcrum of each arm to make them balance

Both are fantastic! Yet! I am leaning more towards the mobile. I found one years ago, that used alligator clips on the ends to hang pictures or cards. LOVE it! That may be a bit easier to create. I love that you didn’t do a stock standard cricut video! I love my cricut and it can do so much more than most people show! I would suggest maybe next time for the metal that you do the shape as an engraving too, so the engraving gives you your outline to cut and you can easily centre the design in the centre of the shape. Awesome video as always ❤❤❤

Great job on doing something new. Both were great but I definitely loved the paper art. I did a lot of large paper mosaic pieces when I was I high school and had to let them go recently not enough room. So will definitely be trying this. Thank you for all you share.

If you want to highlight the engraving, you can paint the indents with a pen (black or white or lavender) and that will pop. Looks very nice.
