Your design is v good & useful. This can be done both ways. U shown back double , I had one for my baby ( now she is 48 years old) that was double in front. So far I can remember it was made by my aunty. My father liked that dress as there was no button.

As difficult as it is on rounded edges its really important to press seams when you're sewing. Pattern makes a cute childs apron.

THANK YOU...am going to share this on Vintage Sewing Machines group on FB with link and credit to you. Thank you for no talking, no dragging this out and for making this easy. I have sewn for decades now, and use vintage machines only. But hard to explain things to people who haven't sewn any. And the patterns you buy now are a pain to use too. So I try to stick to vintage patterns if I can. And cannot tell you how many outfits I made doing just the same techniques, laying a boughten garment down on paper, only used brown paper grocery backs or butcher paper in roll, turning one way and then the other to trace pattern adding for seam allowance of 5/8th, and then going to town making up something with no boughten pattern. You have made my month! I am wondering though about the blue marking square, where did you get that?
