Hi! How many ounces of resin did you end up using for the 2mm layer? Beautiful work!
@DigitalNozmadz
@DigitalNozmadz 4 года назад
Hi! Thank you for the question. We used 5.3 ounces Epoxy and 3.0 ounces hardener. The Epoxy we use had a 1 Epoxy on 0.625 hardener ratio this is not everywhere the same. And i'm glad to hear you liked the tray!

Did you paint the tray before or after? I just got a couple of used trays that have water stains but the perimeter is in pretty good condition and a lovely oak color.

I did the paint before doing the epoxy. If the paint is not done accurate you can always cover it with the epoxy. The used trays sounds like an awesome project goodluck with them. I hope they turn out great!

Hi ...very nice work .I have a question...can we use hair dryer instead of heat gun .???
@DigitalNozmadz
@DigitalNozmadz 3 года назад
Thank you for the reaction. You can use a hair dryer for moving the epoxy and popping the air bubbles. The reason i personally prefer the heat gun is that you have more heat settings. You do have to watch out for dust and little hairs when using a hairdryer or heat gun. Let me know how it turned out!

I’ve been wanting to do this but how do you know how much resin you need I’m nervous I’ll do way too much and it won’t cure. Or I’ll do not enough and have to mix more but then not get colors right

It always brings me a lot of joy to create something amazing I hope it does the same for you. For the amount needed it does need some preparation. First you will need to measure the width and height and decide on the how thick you want the layer to be(on average I use 3 milimeters). So for a pour of width 10 cm x height 10 cm and 1mm thick you will need 11 grams of epoxy mixture. With this you can caculate the amount needed. With the pours I do I always have some excess epoxy due to making a batch a bit bigger just to be sure. If have some left over I do pour them in pyramide molds. After a few pours I have a new pyramide that is always unique. I hope that I did answer your questions and hope you can make something amazing with it. If you have anymore questions let me know!

Hi i made mine how to remove scratches ..
@DigitalNozmadz
@DigitalNozmadz 3 года назад
You can sand it down from 80 grit sandpaper up til 4000 grit and polish it if it. Or you can always pour a clear coat epoxy over it and the scratch will be filled up. Thabks for the question

Dear,can we use blow torch instead of heat gun?
@DigitalNozmadz
@DigitalNozmadz 2 года назад
Yes a torch can be used to, but in my experience if you use an alcohol dye there is a chance that the alcohol starts burning and there is a chance that it will leave a moark in the Epoxy. I hope this answers your question.

Hey, did u apply anything before or after pouring the resin?
@DigitalNozmadz
@DigitalNozmadz 3 года назад
Hi, Working with wood i always use a first epoxy coat this is needed otherwise the epoxy will be sucked into the wood. With a seal coat the wood won't be able to suck in the epoxy layer that you pour on it. Thanks for the question!

@@DigitalNozmadz what u mean 1st epoxy coat?. Does that mean covering it only with epoxy with no hardener?. Im apologize. Im very new to this
@DigitalNozmadz
@DigitalNozmadz 3 года назад
@@monicaa.6308 Thank you for the question. no apology necessary it is a good question. What i mean by first layer is the epoxy with hardener. You want this layer to harden the wood. This will also help with agains air coming from the wood when you pour the top layer.
@bijukalpesh

So what's the ratio of epoxy with hardener? 1:1? For the first layer
