I made these with my gran every Yule to represent the return of the Sun. We also would push whole cloves into some of them before we dried them. And we'd push cloves into whole oranges for a bowl to sit in the middle of the dining room table.
That was very nice n looked beautiful on your window. I love how u incorporated the oranges with the foe greenery looks perfect. I agree it’s also a nice winter decor
Love your garland, it's beautiful, and what a fantastic view out of the window! I'm doing orange , lime and grapefruit dried garland this year but everything here (UK) is SOOO much more expensive ! Somehow don't think mine will look as good as yours. Thank you
Vlog style was great, and I love the garland! I leave my "winter" decor up through February, then in March I put up the spring decor. Only Christmas specific stuff comes down in January. :)
I LOVED THIS! I have been thinking of doing something like this too!! But you're so right that it works all winter long, so MAYYYYBEEE I'll make it in January to sooth my heart after taking down the christmas stuff :) Also loved the vlog style DIY
That's the best idea. I get so depressed after the holidays and taking everything down! I'm glad you liked it :) I felt like I wouldn't have time to film all of my DIY ideas if I had to keep setting up my big camera so, vlog style for some of them will have to do!
Hi! Just watched this video and absolutely loved it! I have got my oranges in the oven as I write this comment! I wondered what you did with the left over orange and spices you popped in a saucepan after they boiled away?
Oh that’s amazing! I let the mixture simmer on low all day, just add more water whenever it starts to get low in the pot. It makes the house smell so good. I sometimes keep it in the pot overnight (without heat of course) and then get it simmering again the next day. After that I throw it out.
I think the cooling rack may have saved any of your slices from burning. While I do have parchment paper, I’m going to use my cooling racks on the baking sheets instead.
Great Christmas decor for the kitchen! It turned out lovely!!!. I’m wondering though would you get any fruit flies after a while? (I’m not experienced with dried fruit decor) 🤔
Hi, it is actually a DIY project from a while back! I got a small cutting board from the Target dollar section and added those little legs at the bottom using egg holders. Very random haha here’s the link to the video: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-Hf4xpaahAiU.html
