@@Artistram3d1 not that I've found. I just grab up the plastic and pull them straight out. In the very rare case one pulls through, the tip of the utility knife solves that, or, on the sadly more common case I over drive them, I just mud them in.
Hi Paul, love your videos. Just had my interior painted and went and did a couple of patches afterwards. I spray textured the areas and noticed when I painted it left a circle. Should I sand? Should I re-roll paint? It’s only the outer ring the center of patch looks fine. It’s a medium wall texture.
I appreciate that Sandy! Did you use the oil base texture can or the water base? ! It might need a super light sanding? It could also be that the new texture is absorbing the paint differently then the already painted surface is? In this case you will need to spot prime the patch a few times (start in the middle of the patch and feathering out to nothing, keeping the primer off of the older paint). Basically, you just need to catch up the patch absorbtion rate of the existing wall. I like Zinsser123 latex primer or Kilz original oil base in a spray can. -Paul
Hey, I saw your comment on TubeBuddy and thought I'd check out your channel. It's really cool! You've Got a lot of great videos 👍 This one is totally practical; we need more videos like this in the world. Thanks! #Awesome
Iv'e been using drywall nails in the same way you use the push pins. I love the tape trick on the top of the plastic to give the pins something to grab! I can also tell a east coast drywall guy that looks like a surfer at work! Keep it up bro!
I’m planning on removing my chair rail in a bedroom tomorrow and was curious how you would repair damage and prep for painting? I’ve watched a couple of your videos and now I’m curious if I need any drywall tape that you mention often. Any help would be so much appreciated! Also what’s your favorite joint compound? Haven’t bought any supplies yet but plan to in the AM. Thanks!!!
Awesome technique with the pushpin never thought of that method. That tape and poly will come down in a flash if you make one wrong move without better adhesion than just tape.
