This also might serve as a good basis for a DH-17 blaster pistol. Seeing that both the E-11 and DH-17 were made from the Sterling L2A3 sub-machine gun.
Very good tutorial, I finished this today, it was good fun. As a suggestion, instead of popsicle sticks on the end of the barrel, I used pvc foam strips (from a yoga mat), I think they work pretty well. You are the best bro, great work!!!
The top of the foam piece is flush with the 2 sides of the cardboard handles. But when you cut the hole to insert the handle, the foam is longer at the top to insert in the tube. So I guess I need to make it longer?
My next episode should be coming sometime during early January and let's just say I'll hopefully be making the helmet of a certain iconic sith lord. ;)
Both tubes I used to make the barrel were about 19 and a half cm in length until I glued them together, so overall you'll want the barrel length to be about 39cm.
Well if the gift wrap tube is long enough you'll only need one tube that's 39cm in length. Now for me because I didn't have a long enough paper towel tube I had to glue two together.
