Finally did this and wanted to share some stuff that I did. I'm about her same size, so I just used the same pattern measurements and was fine. Something I noticed though was that she cut the pattern pieces longer than she needed them (sleeves and legs). I ended up chopping maybe 4 inches off the shorts and 5 inches off the sleeves. Wish I'd realized that before cutting them out of my fabric. For the shorts, I intended to add pockets, forgot, didn't feel like seamripping, so I added one square pocket on the back right. For the waistband, I initially sized it to my waist, then realized it was a STRUGGLE to get over my hips. Had to rip it out, let out my seam, and reattach it. Still comfy and now I don't feel like I'm going to break it every time I put it on. I also topstitched the waistband and side seams. Wasn't necessary, but I felt like it. For the top, when doing the cuffs I was like "huh these are way less stretchy than in the video" turns out my fabric has a direction of stretchiness and I picked the wrong one (this happened with the waistband for the shorts as well). Oh well. I used a basting stitch and gathered the sleeves. It's not perfect or even but I think it's good enough. All in all, super stoked how simple this was, and though it's summer and getting hotter and I might not be wearing the top that much, I love the set! Edit: I'm hopelessly in love with these clothes and wear them constantly. I'm planning on making more (at least of the top) and I want to make one for like every person I know.
Omg, I’ve been searching for an easy loungewear set to sew and yours have been the only one I could understand. I can’t wait to see how mine turns out, yours just look so cute!
I thought you were going to use a zigzag stitch. I never thought to use the zigzag straight stitch combo. Thanks for the tip. I hope school is going well.
Thanks to you I’ve just made my dream Loungewear set. I’m currently working on another one for my roommate because she loved the way it turned out. Thank you so much!
what size seam allowance did you use? How much of the sleeve did you take off before adding the cuff or was that added in the edit for the pattern? Did you use a stretch needle? And could pockets be added to this?
OK, that's it. You motivated me to really start sewing. What machine would you recommand for a begginer? I have a very old singer at my parent's place but idk how to but the thread on it and its not very intuitive haha
I've always admired people who can make their own clothing and sew! Always wanted to try but not sure if I can afford to invest in a sewing machine to try! Tried hand sewing and it was horrible and took forever so I never finish projects I start :'D
I got like a $75 machine for Christmas and kinda taught myself, made Bernadette Banner's pirate shirt (and a few smaller projects as well) before something got messed up and I decided to invest in a higher quality machine. Got the Brother CS6000i for about $200 because I saw myself getting more into sewing. I think it's a great investment if you're really interested (even though fabric and supplies are still expensive yikes). (Also I tell myself that first machine was just the price of a cool shirt + the small projects + a whole sewing lesson, which makes it feel worth it.)
I really hope you see this Please please please turn this into a pattern on your shop!❤️ I don’t know how to make the measurements fit me so a pattern would be helpful. Thank you 😊 I love your channel btw❤️
Hiya, just wanted to share a tip for text on screen, especially for people like me who have eyes that don’t like to do the seeing thing, put the text on a contrasting background.. honestly It makes such a difference!
Can you do a video on rayon? I have some thin fabric and it's really hard trying to think of fashion patterns that would work for it and not pull it apart 🙃
omg I'm redoing my whole room and closet soon and I've outgrown a bunch of my clothes, gonna sew most of my new clothes (probably all from your videos haha) and this is DEFINITELY going on the list!
YOU SHOULD POST MORE OFTEN!!! I just started sewing and I created a scruchie and a tote bag, I'm gonna attempt this when I get the fabric but you should definitely post more, ur voice is super calming and the way you explain things is like just amazing- I cab actually understand you. And ur voice isn't annoying (sorry but other ppl I've watched their voices are just annoying and I stopped watching them bc of that)
i made my first piece of clothing today!! it was shorts, though not these, but im so happy about it :DD (i realized too late that ive done both of the side seams before adding in the pockets, so theyre pocket-less, but theyre from a really soft fabric and so comfy :)
Is there a reason your seam allowance is so large? It may just be the angle but it looks like 3/4”. Great tutorial! Wish there was more clarification on how to change the sizes to fit yourself.
It looks like a Brother XR9550 (except hers has grey and the ones I see online have blue?) But it looks suuuuper similar. I have a Brother CS6000i which also looks very similar (but less so) and is like $20 cheaper. I love it.
Okay I love this, but I wouldn’t completely recommend for very beginners, it is very hard to stretch and sew the fabric for the cuffs and sleeves. But very good set!
Hey nice video and really good sewing. But the therm pretty side is a bit confusing in this video with the mixed up sides for cuffs. Consider using left and right for the future. This set really suits you and your dog is very cute 🤗
