Does the internet Ebow schematic really work? Find out in this video. This final video in my Ebow Resurrection series (PART IV) is where I finally come to a more or less complete understanding of how this simple yet wonderfully complex circuit works. Includes building a DIY Ebow, a few more tests that require building more creative jigs and devices to connect to an oscilloscope, an LTSpice simulation that gets pretty close to waveforms seen in real world testing and a summary of the things we have learned in this whole process.

Wow! You did such a great job!! I tried out myself to excite strings with electromagnets switched on and off by mosfets, but after learning from you about all the ebow principals, i defenitly have to try out to implement this to my project. The use of feedback loops is way much smarter. I've gone trough all your videos on the ebow. What a journey! Thanks so much for sharing your discoveries! I was wondering now at the end of this series, about your recommendations for final design and the needed components and their connections. In one video you say, that you would share your documentation, if people reach out. How could i get in contact with you?

Hey thanks for the comment and appreciating all the work I did on this. I have an Ebow page at my website which has all of the technical data that I show on my PDFs linked there - www.DIYguitarist.net The only thing that no one has been able to reverse engineer is the actual specs of the coils. I got some to work but they need to be something very specific to get reliable operation. Hope that helps…

Yes! Way too quiet! I want to hear what he's saying, but even with my computer cranked, I can't make out a word. I'll have to watch this later, turned up with headphones on.

Really interesting ! On your diy model, did you try to add surrounding metal to prevent input and output coil to react together, as a larsen ? And, finally, can you imagine a diy schematic that works ? Or there are too much unknown values as coil, magnets etc making a realistic diy project a nightmare ? Anyway, a nice job, thank you for sharing that !

I didn't use any ferrite rings, they are specialty product... don't even know where you could get those. Still too many unknowns about the coils. They need to be constructed in a certain way with very specific materials, wire gage and magnet types. Cheaper and easier to just buy one.

@@VegasCyclingFreak Ferrite or just grounded piece of metal (in my brain, it's to isolate correctly the 2 coils) Cheaper/faster, for sure. But less fun :p I will try that myself one day

@@archloy Sorry, my memory failed me. I remember now that I initially thought they were ferrite but they're actually coated steel rings. I made a PDF of the whole ebow. It's at my website www.diyguitarist.net/PDF_Files/EBOW%20Data.pdf I made these videos before I decided to resurrect the website beginning of this year.
