I have to wonder if you could have this done more on the area that a V-brake is used instead of on the tire, which might wear down the tire quicker. Even if you had two set up to close against that area an using the same principle drive the wheel forward it could okay. Add in that some models of this type of drive drop down or pivot up to make contact with the tire's surface, you could have the one/two drive wheels pivot into place or disengage in the same manner.
+Mads Primdahl Thorsen Yep, the shocks are rigidly locked with the dedicated lever on the front fork whenever the motor is mounted. The inner steel tubes that support the motor also remain protected thanks to their intrinsic hardness and the fact that the U-bolts and their rubber anti-slip sheets apply even pressure along most of the circumference. Care is also taken to protect the rubber gland that surrounds the bottom of each suspension tube.
+szaki I bought a pair of Kenda K908 Pathfinder tires in December of 2012 for $10 each on Amazon. They still look and work just fine today after well over 1000 miles on them (with and without motor conversion). The inner tubes don't even last that long.

Isn't it better to put the letter on the left side of the back frame so you can use your shocks and all the gears would have sprocket mounted on the left side that hooks to the hub but like your idea
This sounds great, BUT, not new!, this style has been used for over 70 years, but, it will eat up tires. Better to use a style that has chain, axle, or similar drive. This is good for someone that will use this to uphill assist.
Check one of the comments sections there, it's been asked before. The wiring, though simple, is different for every scooter or motor-controller manufacturer, and most even include their own instructions/schematics on their product or repair pages.
I've been thinking about doing something similar. I figure I'd cut out the attachments and frame with my powerplasma and weld it up rather than using bolts.

simon vitela Not from my experience. With a standard grit-tape on the drive wheel and proper pressure in the tire, the motor's feeble 300watts is unable to break traction and slip.

nicholas salwei The two 12v 10Ah SLA batteries are bound together and placed inside a cheap tool bag (along with the scooter's original motor controller). That in turn is strapped into a modified cup holder. And yes, they are rechargeable using the same charger that came with the Razor scooter I took apart; all the wiring connections inside are the same.
It's perfect, now what would you do for us older folks who prefer the comfort of full suspension? (I'm really surprised more markets haven't capitalized on this -- I had to customize a mountain bike for mostly street riding -- about 80 percent road & path riding) I've thought of this small wheel on big wheel friction idea for over a decade but never did anything about it. I like my pedaling but I got hit last week by a taxi and feeling the aches and pains am considering some other options so I can still bike. I feel free when I am on a bike. You should be making and selling these kits. I've got about 6 bikes running at any one time. I even have about 4-6 12vdc 10ah sla batteries I'm using for solar cell research. They fit perfect on an aluminum cargo bike rack. After just seeing that vid I'd be entering my credit card # to your company right now to test one out & I'd buy more once I like it. That's how I do things. I have no idea of what size/type/kind of motor to buy off amazon or ebay. I have old car starters around -- when I went through college me and a buddy discussed this and he said it'd probably rip the rubber right off the tire! He was probably right, then, but with today's NMOS and PWM (his car was a VW OBD I back then, mine a 350 rocket with rochester quadrajet and we'd blast past the police station at 140mph some days! Always over a hundred! Those were the days. Never got a ticket over 79mph on my record, either.). I hope you're going to school for engineering or something worthwhile. I went for Avionics so I know a lot about electronics but minimal about electric motors. I can rebuild any one of them, though, alternators, too. I've got the money to buy an easy kit -- I don't want one of those messy hubs but I might do one for a trike for my grandmother since I got the tricycle frame free. I'd still rather have direct motor drive -- thinking grade 40 chain for that one. Same stuff they use on snowblowers and it takes lots of abuse very well.

I have handbike for wheelchair, with front wheel traction (pedaling).If I put this motor on the front wheel, what will happen when I want to pedal ? If the motor wheel, push on the tire, will not brake down the wheel ? Thank you.
+Syncro Van If you manage to find a solid mounting point for the motor, it shouldn't cause any excessive wear on the tires in any case (coasting or powering the wheel). This is because a 300w motor does not have enough power to break traction and skid along the rubber. Also, when you want to only pedal, the motor will be able to freewheel with negligible resistance.
Syncro Van It's a 24volt motor, so it will not run very quick or powerfully on 14.8volts (4S). However, I have tested it on a 6S pack (22.2volts) with success. Putting two 4S packs in series to make an 8S pack may be even better if you can keep the motor and controller cool/happy.

I have hard time finding the controller in EU , on good price.From Amazon.com they did not ship on my location, and on my local Amazon, didn't find any. +ahmed abter Salt water is my only concern with this setup. There is a a CatEye speed/odometer installed on the bike. Likewise, when using LiPos I have a low voltage alarm that sounds when the voltage goes below a certain threshold.
Friction mostly but side pressure on the shaft bearings is something it's not designed for along with no gearing and excessive tire wear. It's the least efficient way to achieve an electric bike from all possible routes. Power draw from a standing start will be really heavy and it won't have an efficient high rpm either like most ebikes Still works though and if parts were spare doing nothing, it's still an electric bike and fun to ride. Just avoid the dog crap at all costs :)
Rotating bicycle wheel with wheel on electric motor shaft will lead to uneven wear of the tyre requiring change of wheel tyre.As such it is suggested that cycle rim may be used to rotate the cycle wheel.
It's been a couple years since I used it. But the motor has easily gained a few hundred miles. It's a brushed DC motor. I've taken it apart in the past to re-glue a magnet that fell off (don't hit motors with hammers) and the brushes still had loads of life left in them. Being only a 300w motor, it doesn't have enough power to noticeable deteriorate the bicycle tire.
@@PhysicsDude Thanks for answer! Have motorized bike with 80cc engine, but lot noise and smell fuel in apartment after drive) And big problem with wheel spokes and bearing, ths kind engine very strong for bike) Now will try with E-drive.
