Just need speed cream on the stock bearings. No need to swap them. Lube is all it takes (That's wat she says !)

Yogee Bear not a stupid idea at all, electric cars use a similar concept call regenerative braking. I'm not sure how or if it would be worth applying to a skate board but it's definitely not a stupid idea.

Yogee Bear you could, but it would mean that your board would go slower. according to the laws of physics, the kinetic energy you take from the wheels will subtract from the kinetic energy of the whole board. Also, you would lose more energy to friction by the mechanism you use to take that kinetic energy. It would be practical on something very large, but would not be practical on the longboard.

Not at the same time. The overall effect is that you'd be losing energy because some energy escapes as heat, friction between the wheel and ground, friction within the motors, etc.

Sebastian Schumacher I know that. I've been studying what's inside (and behind) electric skateboards for the last three months. Go look at the diy esk8 builders forum, that's a lot of info about everything. That board is crap, this is a statement. The yuneec ego on the other hand is decent, just slow. But that costs 700€. Anything under has major flaws, that could be overheating of the motor, esc, bad battery (see hoverboards explosions), bad torque, bad top speed, poor connections etc. I'm building one for about 500€, with a much bigger motor, better esc, bigger battery (10s3p liion with bms) and way better top speed (40km/h). And I don't have any tool or previous knowledge. I didn't even know what putting batteries in series or parallel means

Sebastian Schumacher those ones are usually that cheap because of pre-order discounts. The fact is that to retail a product for 600, the cost of the components should be no more than 400. Decent hub motors don't come at less than 150 each (and a single hub is not recommended, it's very weak), I know that because I know people who produce them and can have the lowest prices. A good battery needs to be at least 8s3p, that's 24 cells that don't come lower than 4$ each (in bulk discount), so it's around 90 for batteries + 20 for a bms + 15 for a charger, add an esc for minimum 75 (if less it will break), then add the cost of a remote (30 on alibaba), a board, trucks etc and you see that it exceed the 400 $. Now look at the board in this video, it's sold at 400 dollars. It must cost a half. Imagine what's inside
