Oh my goodness! How very clever! I love how you figured out the 2nd card with the shell on the inside, I'm glad you didn't give up, because I might have. I need to try it. Love how you colored all the pieces and used the stencils to make the different bubbles in different colors. Beautiful hand made cards. Big thumbs up. 😍🌺😊
I came to see the cool cards and ended up excited within the first minute b/c I'm redoing all my stamps and was trying to figure out how to make my master list once they are on acetate. Thanks Simon for the simple idea of using tape... I hadn't thought of that. Going to make my process go by SO much faster!!!!!
Scott another great video. So very professional. Sweet that you did not give up on the folding of it all. So very appreciative of your style GORGEOUS cards, GREAT tips and so very short, sweet, and to the point. Will look up the coloring video also. Cannot decide which card I enjoy more. Will have to make both. THANK YOU> So glad I clicked the notification Bell and didn't miss out on this.
Fantastic cards Simon, love the second card and I like the way you are turning the stencil, it really did soften the lines of the waves ad the multi coloured spots are fantastic. Di.
I love explosion cards and experimenting to create new ideas too. Thank you for sharing your creativity with us. After watching this vid i tried using a large beveled circle, as i do not have a shell die. I followed your directions from the 8x8 explosive card from before. It worked not bad with some tweeking. Just an idea i thought anyone could try. Thanks again.
Hi Betty! I am so glad you tried out the technique... It might take a bit of tweaking for other shaped die cuts, but the results are awesome. :) I hope it works out nicely for you!
so i was waiting for Michaels to open LOL. your coloring yesterday was great. i was coloring with you!! and the shell is adorbs. thank you for introducing me to Studio Katya
Hey Simon .....you really got creative with the shell card...I love how it turned out ! I have been using more and more stencils in my card making and am loving it. Thanks for the inspiration to try another exploding card ! Hugs...Wanda xx
I have made many exploding cards lately. You can use the original folded center in different sizes, so long as it is a square AND glue large letters inside so long as they are thin paper, like for a printer or stick on letters. I have also cut all around the edges of the center square with my Martha Stuart punches. Best was folding up my spider web 5x7 die (cut into a 5x5 square) and gluing it into a smaller card.
"... its a little messy in here..." (with 3 drawers open). hehe. We totally understand! Remember you are talking to crafters. I am working on Father's Day cards - you should see the mess I have. Its a hurricane! LOL I don't know why I have this habit of taking out so many materials that I end up not using. But out of sight, out of mind. At least I give myself the option. hehe. Love your cards! I enjoyed watching you coloring the images yesterday. Such cute images :) TFS
The shell one gets my vote especially since it's novel :). The first one, I've made before. I believe it's called a squash fold & its roots are in origami.
Those cards are very cute but too complicated for me, my brain doesn't work as well as when I was younger ha ha . I like the second card more than the first, both are cute but the second one really caught my eye. Thank you for sharing!
What fun cards❤️ Love the techniques you used the with the stencils, dies, and stamps. I see that I will need to add some to my supplies! Thank you so much.
I had been thinking that I needed to figure out the origami of exploding cards one day and clever you did the work for me! Thank you. I also liked your use of background stencils. I need to make some with Cherokee designs on my Cricut or Silhouette for myself one day.
Wow and Wow!! I’ve made the first explosion card several times and always go back to it as a favorite way to impress the recipient! The shell one is a terrific new idea and you hit this one out of the park! Very creative!! Thanks so much for sharing these....keep ‘em coming!!
Really great cards and I love the shell one especially!! Glad you didn't give up on the folding it is so adorable!!! Lots of great tips you gave us, thanks!!! Hugs!
Hi Simon !! I really enjoyed this video and I wanted to ask you something. Does your Teflon bone folder leave marks on your cards like a plastic one does or not ? I wanted to get one, but I wondered about this before I invested in one . Thanks for all your hard work and how well you teach. Hugs !! ❤😀
Ok - looking thru your supply list...what is the tool you use to put all the stamps on and just turn over to stamp. I did not catch what you called it. Thx again!
I used the MISTI stamping tool and love it! Here are links to multiple stores: • MISTI PRECISION STAMPER Stamping Tool Kit --- ldli.co/e/zx47pd [ SimonSaysStamp ] --- ldli.co/e/9ml12m [ Scrapbook. com ] --- ldli.co/e/kn4r3e [ Ellen Hutson ]
You nail it every time. Another corking video🤩. Helping my 9 year old daughter but a lot of the time our clear stamping image is not Crisp they turn out blurred. We use good quality products like ranger black archival ink to stamp. Any ideas what we could be doing wrong? Thanks in advance
Hi Ted! Be sure that you are using high quality stamps as well. Photopolymer stamps can make a huge difference when stamping to give better results. Also, stamping straight up and down gives better results... sometimes a stamp positioner helps! :) Hopefully I can share a video on the topic soon!!!
Inklipse Thanks for the heads up about quality of stamps. Yes I think we will need to invest precision stamp tool. We are Looking forward to more videos. Thanks again 🤗
