Instead of searching for every pot holder and oven mitt around, make this extra large reversible hot pad to use under large casserole dishes.
In this tutorial, I demonstrate how to quilt, add and finish binding to a set of tea towels to make this hot pad that will fit two large casserole dishes.
You can use any cotton fabric for this project.
Use cotton batting or Insul-Bright in between the fabric.
Binding strips are cut 2.5” ( 6.3cm) wide and sewn with a ¼’’ (6mm) seam allowance.
Zig zagging the edges around the pad makes it easier when turning the binding.
Finish the binding with an edgestitch or a zig zag stitch.
These hot pads are a great Christmas gift idea or product to sell.
