I made three fairy garden houses by repurposing a milk jug by cutting it in half from top to bottom and covering it with clay and painting bricks on it with a rock roof and chimney. The second one I used an old alcohol bottle and covered it with the fake short grass from craft stores or dollar stores and I made the door by cutting popsicle sticks. The third I used a lemon juice bottle and glued little sticks that I cut all to the same length and made the roof from dried ornamental grass in my yard that I glued at the top edge of the house and tied it together with a piece of rafia at the top. I made the door with a little piece of wood and painted it. The only things that had been purchased were the short grass material and the one fairy door. I had bought these a few years ago on a clearance rack so I already had them. Everything else was repurposed or I got from my yard.
One of my goals this year was to set aside some time to be creative and not just work work work! This channel will be perfect encouragement! I have already painted some greeting cards this year so, hey, it’s a start! Thanks for the creative ideas!
Absolutely make creative time for yourself, it's our mental sanity😂. I get so stressed when I don't have creative projects. Anything is a start but go you! And thank you for watching
@@AlliRoots that’s right, it’s very satisfying to see a beautiful finished project...and helping to keep us sane doesn’t hurt 😂 Thank you, and go you right back at ya’, I hope this year you always have a creative project going and thank YOU for sharing 😊
Hooks you nailed it. Alli is a natural, authentic, real and truly passionate about what she does. Not to mention blessed with talent. Ryan is the exact same way. He is my IDOL for so many reasons.... the man changed my life 360. Engineering to reselling. Who would have thought. Its weird. Ryan gives me the drive for the grind and pain and Ally gives me the belief for my channel and my story. You both are here for a reason for sure. Always touched moved and inspired. Im a lone wolf, a one-man show. You guys def get me through. Thanks guys.
Beautiful! I’m here from RR. I’ve been so busy for the last year and a half with my business that I completely let my creative side go. You are so right in what you said in another video, creative people can’t neglect this side of their personality. You are so right! I’m inspired. Thank you for reminding me!
Loved this tutorial. I will definitely try this if I can find some fairy doors. I haven't seen any at our 2 local dollar trees but I'll keep searching. That is such a fun craft
very well done enjoyed it very much. It was easy instructions to follow not like others where no talking and just fast and no instructions. I will be following your show more now.
If you use outdoor products, yes it will. You'd have to use outdoor silicon/caulking, outdoor faux flowers, and outdoor faux moss. Personally, outdoor products are far too expensive for me to make something that the elements eventually destroy here in Florida but it is possible. If you're putting it outside on a porch not in direct sunlight where it could fade and where it won't be rained on though, I believe it could last quite a while. Goodluck!
Really cute! My concern is that the door is glued on. How will the fairies get in? My logic: you make a butterfly garden, you expect butterflies -yes? Keeping an open mind: I know 2 different people that had fairy gardens and they swear they have seen fairies.😉
Thank u so much. I really enjoyed your video, yes, please make more. You seemed to of had a clear vision of what u wanted to do & what u needed to buy. The bucket & funnel was a genius idea for the house. I am so amazed by how creative & talented people are and it's so wonderful to have a platform for the people who want to share their knowledge, skills, & experiences. I look forward to watching more videos by you.
This is so inspiring and so beautiful - I should for the sake of the Fairies and Fae add that they require doors and windows that function as they should. If the intent is to make connection better start best foot forward ❤️
A quick question though. If I get the white caulking, and use white stones, I could then dry brush some paint over the stones and maybe some ink wash to bring out the crevices? Do you think the dollar tree rocks will take the paint and still stick to the caulk?
I definitely know that the dollar tree rocks will stick to the caulking. Make sure you wash them though just to get off the dusty coating! And then after you put some paint on it I would suggest spraying it down with a sealer (from Walmart or a home improvement store). Caulking is usually paintable too so the paint should have no problem adhering to the caulking. Good luck! I'm so excited for you
As long as the caulk is still wet its water soluble. All you have to do is wash your hands :) But I would recommend not washing it down your sink and using a hose if theres a lot. If its just a little, wipe as much off onto a something disposable (piece of paper towel etc) and then just wash the rest off.
When friends or family visit.... drop a test tube with water in the chimney hole... add a piece of dry ice... smoke outta the chimney!? Boom!!! Wasps might crawl in that chimney hole ? Nice work !!!! 👍☘️
love this ... so cute...but would love to put mine outdoors and I don't think that would last too long outdoors ... trying to think of a way to make it winterproof 🤔
Thank you, definitely no dollar tree project is going to last outdoors. Dollar tree makes great items for crafting but can keep the price down because of the quality of product and materials used for them and theyre definitely not weatherproof. Maybe Micheals and Joanna's have some outdoor crafting products
CRAFTS! I just watched the insane video you guys put out. Your boy went OFF! You guys both have insane passion for what you do. You guys are definatly trandsending. You watch your guys video will cause a massive wave. Buckle up your going for a ride! Blend your guys show. Ryan's UGGGGGG attitude towards crafts is awesome 😆 Keep going guys!
would love to see you add to the fairy house i think if you can find a bucket without handles that would work also! you are super creative and very sweet alli love to watch all your crafting
Oh absolutely! I like the handles because I it can easily pick it up and move it around. But any base would work, a liter bottle, a pot from the dollar tree or anything similar for sure
Speechless. Your skills with the crafting are amazing. My daughter won't watch thrifting anymore. She keeps waiting for your content. Now she just looks for crafting stuff. Very cool. Your skills and how you come across on camera..... Insane. I have wanted to start making youtube videos for two years. Every time I hear and see you on camera doing your thing wether it be on the Ralli Roots channel or this one now, it makes me believe I can do it. Keep going.
Thanks so much Kevin! That's so flattering to hear and I really appreciate your kind words :) Also, I hope wee can inspire you to make some content as well!
@@AlliRoots You put the work in cause and effect id say. Great job for sure! Your work is great but it's weird that your channel inspires art for many. Im not a huge crafter but have with kids ect. Im a builder so i can appreciate your work. What I really get from your videos is the sense of "I can be my best self one day and just share what I like doing"...reselling like you are. Having two channels?? Man I'm a chicken 🐔 Been watching you guys since your FIRST month. I masterd sales coms and picked became a student of the game by picking items and storing mass quantity with the intention of having a sales machine ready to rock. 3Months before Covid-19 I launched my reselling business in a local indoor flea market mixed with sales online. You guys gave me the knowledge and drive to buy and sell. Thanks for that BTW. I sold all thrifted and restored footwear(thanks sneakerhead in the bay), coveted high sales comp items t-shirts and jackets. Your channel definitely gives the push. I have been watching the Roots channel for years and seeing THIS Now! Talk about SHIFT! Wow talk about the ability of being yourself and just talking to people and enjoying what you do. Ryan is AMAZING with the camera! Perfect. He doesn't get enough credit for how far he has come with his editing. Considering watching from where you guys started and watch him get sucked right in is amazing. The more you put out the faster I'll grow my content. 🤣. THIS IS WINDED. No worries to reply. Just letting you know you might be inspiring people in other ways you might not be thinking about. Especially Roots viewers that you spoke of recently. The full-time part-time in the no time viewers. I wonder if any "no time" Roots viewers feel the same. hmmm. No need to reply. Extremly winded.... having a Cali moment. Were so a like. 👍
