Making a Faux Leather Journal Cover for bullet journaling etc. This is a really simple and fast sewing project. Hope you enjoy it!

MATERIALS:
Faux leather
Matching color thread
Elastic thread
Notebook
TOOLS:
Sewing machine
Utility knife or exacto knife
Aluminum ruler
Clips
Non-permanent fabric marker
Lighter (optional)
USEFUL TIPS:
I used clips instead of pins to hold the fabric in place for sewing. Clips don’t leave visible holes on the faux leather.
SAFETY NOTES:
Safety first! Always be careful with dangerous tools and make sure you know how to use them correctly. In this video I used a lighter to carefully melt the edges of the faux leather to make them smooth and neat. This only works on plastic based fabrics and is an optional step. Be careful with the flame!

a good idea would be an internal pocket to always carry a plastic bag to avoid getting wet on rainy days

Thanks! I have bought my leather from a local fabric store. They sell leather scraps from the industry. I have yet to find the best place for leather where I live, so still looking.

Sorry, I missed this comment earlier. No, it doesn't pull through. I tested it before making the hole. You could also make two holes next to each other and pull the elastic cord through them, it would also work. :)

Putting in an eyelet or grommet would also be a nice touch for the elastic band. And a nice design touch.

Hi Banesa! The measurements depend on the notebook size, so that's why I didn't give any exact measurements. I added 1 cm to the height of the notebook and 7cm to each side that is folded, so 14 cm in total. Hope this helps! :)
