For future reference, one of the benefits of using a chalk or clay based paint is that it adheres to any finish, so you don't need to remove the finish on furniture before painting. Also using a chalk paint brush (the round thick bristle brushes) work best for applying chalk based paints to furniture. 99% of the time, a real chalk paint will adhere just fine -- not sure what brand you used, but for example, DIY Paints by Debi or Annie Sloan paints pretty much adhere to anything and they are super pigmented so when applied with the proper brush you get a fantastic finish right away. :) Loved the DIY!
Thanks Lindsey!! I know right?! My husband almost convinced me not to get it but thank God I did lol. Wishing you happy holidays to you and your loved ones 💞

I know that I'm watching this video late and you and yourchubby are in a new place (Your Home Made Happy) ...I REALLY was saying in my mind....she is NOT going to get that square fireplace to fit in that Triangular shaped cabinet. GIIIIIRL!!!!! You did THAT. I ABSOLUTELY LOVE IT. It was MEANT for you to fund that table top fireplace insert. Thanks for sharing.
😁😁 Thanks girl! I had originally tried the fireplace insert without breaking the frame and it looked BAD. That made me think oh crap I need an easy solution and that's how the candles came together lol. Glad you liked it! Happy holidays to you and your family!💞
Genius! Dalia, I am blown away. You never cease to amaze me. Definitely the best diy'er on youtube - hands down. Merry Christmas to you and your hubby.
Omg I actually just shed a tear 😢. You have no idea how much this means to me... Thank you so much for continuing to watch and support my channel. Merry Christmas to you and your family! 💞
One of the best thrift flips ever! I can't believe you bothered to tinker with the actual fireplace itself - amazing! And what are the chances that you'd find a tabletop fireplace that size and shape? I have never seen one before, let alone at a thrift store. What a score!
This looks soooo good! I'd never think of making something like this from that cabinet a first glance lol, kudos to you for having that vision and pulling it off!
I think it would be easier to buy a used fireplace. By the way, I started preparing the components for this legendary lamp that hangs on your wall, I have a part with a lamp holder, from my old ikea lamp, it is in excellent working order, today I bought three rings, and the wall holder on which I will hang this lamp in the end, it remains for me to find the threads for the tassels. AND! I bought items for making stairs according to your recipe. You have puzzled me for a few weeks in advance and I am very grateful to you for that!
Haha I couldn't help myself when I saw the cabinet at the thrift store. Just had to do something creative with it. Love that you're working on the tassell lamp and the ladder! Let me know how it goes! 🛠️
Omg 😱 how amazing this came out! You are a GENIUS! And have majorly motivated me to do something like it. I live in a super Tyni one ☝️ bedroom apartment with zero storage and weir layout so this is something that can really help... 👏👏👏🥰🥰🥰 #cozyvibes
looks beautiful I don’t think I would have thought to do that although when I was younger I turned a fake fireplace into a real looking one and later on I turned a fake one into a real looking one by adding fake brick along the edge and fancy fire with real bi
Get a sanding sponge, you can wet it and ring it out and no dust! Also a foam roller is a lot more effective for me but I also add a little water to my chalk paint
You can make candles from lard/shortening. Melt it then place in holder of choice. When almost set add candle. Trim wick. They burn forever and give off heat. I wonder if something like that could make this functional?
Thank you so much 🥰... I'll definitely be doing an air dry clay video sometime in the future! I've been trying to come up with designs for that video - let me know if you have any ideas 😉
