DIY fix for Nissan Leaf charge port ratchet noise 

MY 2018 Nissan Leaf (ZE1) started making this awful grinding noise whenever opening the charge flap, or rather while unlocking the Type 2 charge cable. The problem was in the charge cable locking pin actuator. Plastic cogs inside it were skipping. One of the cog shafts was broken.
