Nice project so far! Really like the video and the blog. Have you done some response tests with some cap. loads and the switch from CV to CC yet? And just out of curiosity: If one would use a transformer with separate windings, would it be possible to build a +- Supply out of two channels? (with some galvanic isolation IC's of course for the shared micro and so on...)
Hi Lukas, Interesting article, the project seems to have stalled though. I really need to get some practice in using SPICE simulation software,Someone kindly modelled my regulator design and posted a SPICE model which is available as a download on the blog. I plan to spend some more time playing with this at some point. For now I am using intuition and a bit of trial and error. I can see the theory behind the multi-pole comp networks but I want to keep as simple as possible.
Hi Luke, I have done some basic tests with both resistive and capitative loads and things work well from what I can see. Right now the regulator response is very fast, limited by the 47uF cap on the output I guess. I have a fully programmable DC load which I will use to perform the final testing. I have a number of industrial strength power supplies so I will devise some tests and spec my PSU against those and will publish the results. It will be possible to use 2 modules to create +/- supply.
