@@adamskigarage64 thank you! My son and I are building a homemade drag strip out of cardboard to start our own diecast racing channel and we needed 2 garages and other buildings for the background so this video was perfect for us. When we create our channel and post our first video, we'll be sure to give thanks to you!
@@FunkyGOB I built a dragstrip for my son for h.wheels a long time ago, wide enough for cars along the sides also. Spray can black with white pinstripe tape for the center & sidelines. He used it for a long time. ! Made a little Christmas tree out of something, but can't remember what. He's 35 now. Used a bid sheet of thick cardboard for the track. Used gray & white mixed together for the burnout marks ! My grandson could use it now. He's 12.!
A few years ago I made a few playsets for these cars out of shoeboxes, and my last one was modeled after a blast corps level. I made rocks and boulders out of styrofoam and Pepsi bottles-this video may have inspired me to do it again and make a classic car museum. Thanks for sharing your work with us!
Cool 👍 sounds like you've got plenty of experience with shoebox builds. Well done. Glad my video inspired you to do it again. Good luck on your build Thanks for visiting 👍 😊
Another cool build, might try one myself. I have a question, when you take the top layer of cardboard off to make the "corrugated metal".. you apply something.. what is it?
It's nice to see creativity and imagination at work. An excellent example of how much pride one can have in oneself, especially a child, who builds things like this. Instead of receiving something store bought.
Thanks a lot 👍 😊 I'm think that was the main reason I have made this video, just to show everyone that you don't need a lot to have a lot. In most of my videos I using easy sourced materials so more people could follow and build it themselves. Thanks for visiting😊👍 Stay safe
Hi Doors in my garage just taped in place, but you could easily glue together two pieces of cardboard L shape to the wall and slide the doors in between. I may do a video about this as you not the first person to ask. Hope that helps for now Thanks for watching👍😊
Rule #1 never throw away any old shoebox you never know when you will need it 😂 Already posted few videos on how to make DIY workbench and shelves for garage dioramas and more it's coming Thanks for visiting😊👍
Hi. I just attached it with mastic tape so can easily move it to required position closed or open. But should be quite easy to glue two pieces of cardboard in T shape glue it to the wall and make doors move inside them. Hope that helps. Thank you for watching👍
For DIY garage accessories check out my other videos where I built shelves toolcarts, workbenches and more. In this video I'm using shelves and workbenches from SK75WORKS (link to his website in video description) Hope that helps Thanks for visiting
Hi Just posted picture with all dimensions on my community tab. Door size 55mm high / 90mm width Window 65mm high and 100mm width each way from the corner. Hope that helps.
Always dreamed to make such thing as a kid, always tried but all i could use were scissors and i was bad at cutting. Guess they were good enough for me though
My guess is they were good enough to have lots of fun building and playing with it and that the main thing. Maybe you could try to build one now. Thanks for visiting.👍😊
👋 Welcome to my channel For windows I used some clear plastic from old packaging. You can use any clear plastic either from Hot Wheels 5pack/10pack or any other packaging not related to diecast world. One of the comment mentions Pasta boxes so keep your eyes open in Grocery store next time. Hope that helps. Good luck on your build.
Glad you like it. Doors on this build are held in the place just by mastic tape so you can adjust it's height. I'm currently working on proper adjustable doors for garages. If all goes well video on How to make it will be out this Sunday. Stay tuned. Thanks for visiting😊👍
Another inspiration for modelers in mine like HO 📏 scale wow how many vehicles I've collected through out the years! In HOT WHEELS, MATCHBOX even ROAD CHAMPS. That's a model project down the road but my version would be a mixture of plywood & styrene plastics. However yours is good & it works well. Will now keep watching your channel. ✅👍
Glad to hear that my video inspired you. One car here another there and before you know you'll have nice collection 😊 Thanks for watching and good luck on your build.👍
Have you thought about constructing multiple shoebox garages and CONNNECTING them..!?!? I think you need to do that..! How about other types of buildings..? Like a gas station, parking lot, etc.. Or adding a few lifts in this garage.. How about constructing roads..? I always thought that was the biggest challenge; to make roads and have them look realistic. I just recently got a large cardboard box from Indochino and I was wondering what I could do with it.. I think I can make a police headquarters that can park at least a hundred cars.. haha.. Or maybe a fire/medic command center. Maybe a little less than a hundred cars..
Yes you could stick a lot of shoe boxes together or use just one big box as you like. This was one of my first videos so I didn't have any lifts made yet(I have now).I've already built underground garage that could go underneath this one. If you didn't check out my DIY playlist for more ideas for buidings and garage accessories. I'm currently working on video how to make roads and gas station it's on my to do list. Stay tuned. I like your idea for big police headquarters 👍 Good luck and stay safe Sta
Hi 👋 For windows I used some clear plastic from old packaging (to be exact it was window blinds packaging). You can use any clear plastic either from Hot Wheels 5pack/10pack or any other packaging not related to diecast world. One of the comment mentions Pasta boxes so keep your eyes open in Grocery store next time. Hope that helps. Good luck on your build.
Thanks 😊 Workbenches and racks are from SK75WORKS website link in video description, but if you looking for ideas and DIY made garage accessories checkout my DIY builds playlist. Hope that helps Thanks for visiting😊👍
Que gran idea te la copiaré. JAJA Soy coleccionista de HOT WHEELS modelos de los años 1940/2000 , también tengo pistas con sus accesorios. Salu2 dsd mixco Guatemala.
Hi 👋 In this video the doors are just attached in place with tape but, check out my DIY playlist. I've made a video about how to make adjustable garage doors. Hope that helps 👍 Thanks for visiting 😊
This was awesome. I think I can whip up something maybe less detailed just to get started. Or even like a half wall design with just one back wall and one side wall and leave the rest open and exposed for display.
Thank you very much😊👍 Good luck on your build, check out my other videos, I may have something you would like for display without front wall. Thanks for visiting 👍 Stay safe
Bellissimo...gran bella idea ...io ne ho tante di Hotwheels e non so mai dove metterle ....ci voleva proprio questo bel garage ... complimenti...bel video.... ciao dall'Italia
In normal speed that video would be just to long. Pausing ⏸️ it's the best for me when I try to follow some "how to" videos and you could change the speed of the video in settings. Check out my community tab, I post there pictures with sizes. Hope that helps
Thanks 👍😊 For light inside the garage I used some battery operated under cabinet lights(3:37). To record my videos I've got two desk lamps from IKEA. Hope that helps.
