I bought a pocket hole jig about six months ago and use it quite a bit. One word of advice: if you're predominantly using softwood then buy the coarse thread screws, I've found that the fine thread screws don't bite very well in softwood.
Thank you for the demo. I've had a kreg for years and am thinking of getting one of these cheaper jigs off ebay for a big upcomming project. Just a few points if I may. 1. Kreg have various videos and instruction pages that will allow you to set up your jig and choose the right screws. You should for example use coarse threads on soft wood and MDF etc. The fine threads are only for hardwood. 2. Looks like those screws had phillips heads (I am part blind so I might have that wrong). They were developed for production lines and are designed to stop people overtorquing screws and snapping the shank in the job. They are a bad choice for this work. The square drive or in hex heads are a better option.
