I have commented several times on videos before, but it’s getting really freaky now! The night before you upload I always hunt for a very specific video, and then boom. You upload exactly what I’m after, you did it with one of your hair videos, you mask collection video and now this nail on. I’m a nail tech and wanted asmr in a topic I find interesting, I swear I have some for of connection with you 🥰🤍
I love your “regular” volume videos, they’re still so relaxing! It feels like the pre-asmr days when all of us watched tutorials like this without realizing why they were so calming hahah
Good to know I'm not the only one who did that lol I used to watch NaioNails back before Kirstie came on specifically to relax. I can't remember the other lady's name, but she was very soft spoken and had a beautiful accent. Kirstie is great and I love her accent too but she is a little too energetic to be relaxing for me. I still love watching her, just not for the same reasons, now I actually learn from it instead of sleep XD
@@alternativeprincess4783 you're not alone! I think that's a pretty good description of what happens when I watch Maria's newer videos. There's something about it being energetic, like if she's trying so hard to make us get asmr/relax I feel so much less at ease. I love the videos on this channel where she's just showing us stuff in her life (ahem, crystals), I get the biggest tingles! Maria, if you see this, don't think that we don't love you. You're still the GOAT.
I clicked on this so fast I nearly dropped my phone! Your nails are flawless always! Please could you show us how you remove the gel polish too? I always struggle with that part and end up damaging my nails with the acetone. I must be going wrong somewhere! Great video as always! I’ll definitely be trying your tips out 🥰
The removal process is so annoying!! I bought little clips to keep the acetone-soaked cotton bits on my nails instead of foil, and it works amazingly well! At least for me, it isn’t the acetone that damages the nails as much as scratching at the stubborn bits (though the acetone does dry them out). I try to file the stubborn bits some more and then re-soak them to get them off. 😊
I bought like a $15 file on Amazon with tons of different bits but honestly they can be dangerous and lead to paper thin nails like at the salon. The number one key is to file the first layer off- the top coat. Don’t damage your nail going too deep. But get a rough file, Shave off the first layer then order “gel nail polish remover” from Amazon. There in green bottles, pretty cheap. Do not get it on your skin, if you can manage that- it works so well. Makes the polish pop and peel itself right off within 3 mins. Worth the money. I also have the clips to hold the acetone in place, but that dehydrates your nails badly, and takes forever and causes tons of damage with the scraping and picking. Again, be careful with the application as it BURNSSSSSS if you get it elsewhere, but it’s such a time saver, and so worth the money!
As a manicurist myself, I too was a little nervous when you pulled out the electric file.... but agree that you did beautifully. I would also offer the same advice I saw in a couple of other comments, to try closer to a 45 degree angle with the e-file (especially with that tip:) and ABSOLUTELY get yourself a LED lamp!! They not only put out fewer UV rays and get a thumbs up from the Skin Cancer Foundation, but they are WAY faster, resulting in less use overall! Naturally, I’m not knocking the sunscreen use! I say that any manicurist/nail tech, or nail salon should have it “on hand”... pun intended!!! Great video, as always!!
@@SassyMashaVlogs waiting this for ages ,thank you :) I do gel nails myself and check my nail length before starting,& my gel polish has already base caat & base coat ,use uv lamp already then i use cuticle oil and hand cream ,ready to go :)
I've been watching Maria for over 5 years and I've never seen anything not look absolutely gorgeous on her, so I would say the one thing she can't do is not look beautiful in everything
I have to say, as a nail tech, I was stressed when you used the e file. 😬😂 But over all, you did a good job. And it works for you, that’s the most important. Ps: Maybe use the e file at a 45 degree angle. You would have less chance of hurting yourself.
@@dida079 it depends. On how fast you are, the amount you put on, and that’s decided but the structure of your nail beds. If you are going to put 1 or 2 coats like Maria you can do 5 at a time, or you can flash cure for 10 seconds in between and do a full 60 seconds cure before the next coat. Just make sure you don’t touch the skin around your nails otherwise you may have lifting and that could be bad. Hope that helps☺️
I feel you. I watch simplynailogical and she would paint her nails, no gel, and the polish would last her a week or more, but when I paint my nails they start chipping the same day, and then I immediately hate them.
Maria you're a genius! I never even gave a second thought to my hands and the damage from the UV machine....silly me! I'll definitely be using sunscreen now, thank you! Very helpful video, loved it!
Maria! I was wondering if you would consider doing a video about crystals? Or even one of your New Moon ritual videos! (love those) I have recently started getting into crystals and know you have a lot of knowledge in that area and would love and appreciate some tips :) Your friend, Mack
Maria, I have always loved your nail demos. Since I also polish my nails and have enhancements, I love watching others do their nails, asmr style. But get an LED lamp! That's what most people use nowadays instead of uv lights and they're compatible with most, if not all, nail gel enhancements and colors.
Hi Maria, I loved this video! I actually wrote a list of your steps so I can try it at home. Can you please make another video at a later stage showing how you do your gel from scratch? Thanks so much!! xx
It's amazing how steady your hands are. I could never paint on french tips like that because I would immediately mess it up with my unsteady hands. You can easily tell how experienced you are in nail polishing 😊
"It'll just have to do, you guys. I'm seriously not going to fix it." Hahahah So cute! I can't see myself taking 90 minutes to do all of this BUT I do love watching you ! xo
one tip my manicurist does for gel nails (non-covid times): she cut the fingertips off of thin cloth gloves to protect the skin from the UV light :) spf is also a great idea - thought you may like the glove idea as well!
i recently saw a video that mentioned comfort movies that people watch when they need comfort i guess. I was thinking about what i watch for comfort and realized it’s you. i watch your old full moon videos like i’m gaining something from it even thought the full moon you are talking about in the video was 4 years ago. thank you for so many videos i can watch 1 everyday for forever it feels like!
I feel like your “regular” videos are still ASMR! (And I love it :)) I’ve been using the video to fall asleep the last few days haha. Great video, Maria! Keep up the great work! 💅✨💗 -ᗩᗰᗴᒪIᗩ
You should try a brand called dazzle dry that I love! It dries in 5 min and wears for 7-10 days on the finger nails! You can remove it with regular nail polish remover!
Love it! But I actually do appreciate the nails without the white color on them as well! You're fingers are amazing, one of the first things I notice about U!
I’ve legit been listening to you since I was 14!! (Nine years ago). Your videos have helped me sleep, study, and feel so calm. Thank you for everything you do!! I love your content so much❤️
Amazing Maria! As always! I recommend ordering the lint free pads for alcohol or acetone without leaving behind pieces of fuzz and dust that end up left behind and make your polish clumpy/ inconsistent! Love your content!
I’m quite late to the party with this one, but just wanted to point out that unless you are using a mineral sunscreen (e.g. zinc), then any sunscreen you are applying to your hands would need to be applied half an hour before exposure to the UV rays (as per the instructions on all non-mineral sunscreen bottles). I remember hearing once that the half hour rule has something to do with the way that most sunscreens work. Other than that, I absolutely love this video and get major tingles from it. Listening to Maria talk in such detail about something so inane is so soothing :)
Love Brad Mondo’s videos 😂 please do something like this on Gentle Whispering 😍 your normal voice gives me tingles though, I think my brain just loves your voice in general 😍
Thank you for sharing!! Ever since your last video about how you sometimes just put nail polish over your gel nails, I’ve been considering doing the same! A tutorial of colored nails would be fun too!😍
Your nails are beyond beautiful! 😍 I wish i could grow long nails. Maybe 20 years ago a always had long nails, but then i saw TV documentary about bacteria. They said there are more bacteria under the nails that under the toilet seat. I was completly shocked, cut my nails short and never grew them back to long, never. I know this is my own thing, i am a very clean person, but i still like seeing long nails on other women.
I’ve always loved ur nails. Please share the products you used on ur nails. I have really thin nails and I’ve tried everything to make the thick and strong but I haven’t found one yet. Thanks
Iv been meaning to ask you to do a updated nail routine/tutorial and here it is I'm on my journey to start taking care of my nails. Thanks for this video maria ❤️❤️
I was just looking at purses on Amazon and came across a video review of a purse by Lady Blonde. I recognized your voice immediately. Your nails are on point in that video, too.
I wish I could do this! No matter how hard I try, I end up with polish all over my cuticles or else gaps of polish near the cuticle - regardless if I’m using gel polish or regular polish! Is there a reason you use the UV lamp after every finger and not do the entire hand and then use the lamp?
I think it's to stop the gel from pooling - like spilling to the edges of the nail or cuticle. Because gel doesn't dry on its own, sometimes if you're moving your hand side to side as you paint your nails it can cause the gel to move. Doing a mini cure after each nail should help to hold the gel in place until you're ready to cure it completely. Not a nail tech - but i do gel nails at home too and I always do this if I'm using a very runny gel.
Hi Maria 🙋♀️ just hearing your voice and your hand movements are amazing 🤩 to my hears and how this video shares everything we girls love ❤️ which is your voice and nails 💅🏼. Your tips and tricks are so handy. Sending you waves of positive energy ❤️
This is so informative 👏 Way better than some of those professional nail techs with expensive tools and equipment. The tip of using sunscreen before curing is so clever 👏 I always wondered my my hands are so dark. Now I realize it's because I do acrylic very often and I've never thought to use sunscreen.
Hi Maria, I’m super curious...how did those stick on nail polish strips work for you?? The ones you mentioned buying in that batch of small businesses and Etsy businesses you supported. I’d love to hear, they sounded really cool!
Amazing Maria! As always! I recommend ordering the lint free pads for alcohol or acetone without leaving behind pieces of fuzz and dust that end up left behind and make your polish clumpy/ inconsistent! Love your content!
I love your vlogs, hauls, & tutorials so much. I’ve been following your main since 2012 and also when you announced this channel I can’t remember when that was. BUT it never gets old, I love growing with you and now with your family. Much love Maria xoxo -lex
I always have troubles getting the white tips to STAY put while I'm painting the rest of the nails...I never even thought to put each one under the light for a few seconds in between! Good to know!! Thanks for the tip! (No pun intended 😉)
