This is a prototype DIY gold shaker table used for concentrating gold from the Nome beach, Alaska and other gold bearing sulfides. This prototype was built in 2008 and is similar to the shaker table used in Mt. Baker Mining and Metals operations. The goal of MBMM is to capture all the gold and sulfides so that further refining can be done. If all the sulfides are captured in the cons a higher overall gold recovery is possible. Here is a link to our website for more on hard rock mining and milling:

dennisyoung007- Once we have produced a rich concentrate the mine owner may want to remove as much free gold as he can using a gemini table, bowl etc. Once the gold is removed there are a few refiners in the US that will take sulfide concentrates and refine them to extract more gold. We have run tests, and once all the free gold is removed from the concentrate the remaining sulfides still assay between 3-5 oz/ton, well worth refining. Just Refiners Inc. in Sparks, NV is one refiner we use.

Your table of course shakes, but what of putting a vibrator (As a tumbler set-up) on a standard sluice box. Can the difference in specific gravity between gold 19.3 and the heavy black sands being only one third of that (About 6.0) be exploited in the strength of vibration to move sands while gold stays put? What about sheet magnets mounted just above material far enough magnets don't actually capture magnetite passing below it, but only reduce weight of Magnetite to aid in it's removal? Hematite would still have to be removed by vibration, flow and grade of box. I'm thinking a balance between flow of water, vibration, and the Magnets might find a near perfect balance to utilize on a small portable sluice.

I'm thinking of making my own table, because I have no money, what is the material? rubber or plastic? maybe a router was used? Any tips would help.

Based on the "jelly bean in a jar" calculation, I have enough microgold to buy a good shaker table. Is there a place to send material that is ready for the shaker table stage? :) most people I talk to about getting a shaker table think it is a myth.

Does the water flow push the gold up hill? Trying to build at home. Any help would be helpfull
@mbmmllc
@mbmmllc 4 года назад
The water pushes the quartz and waste down hill, the shake of the table moves the gold across to the concentrates end

would putting a line of magnets above your black sands help improve separation?

It might, but you would need to clean the magnets continuously......

Can this table be used to concentrate gold and silver sulfides from pulverized head ore?
@mbmmllc
@mbmmllc 10 лет назад
HI Joe- Yes this table can be used for both gold and silver sulfides from head ore. Please check out some of our other videos (links in this video description) or search for MBMMLLC in the RU-vid search bar. We have several videos of our shaker tables separating various types of head ores. You can call or email with any questions too. 360-595-4445 or email MBMMLLC@gmail.com Thanks

thats impressive getting the lead and gold separation. was the values you thought contaminating the gold actually lead then or pgms? i thought it may be osmium and wolfram possibly palladium ?

Hi, can this works for tin ore?
@mbmmllc
@mbmmllc 10 лет назад
Yes this can work for tin ores. The density of tin and most of its related compounds are around 5-7 g/cm^3. The black bands that show up on the table in this video are mostly pyrrhotite, magnetite, and hematite, which has a density closer to 4-5 g/cm^3. I just put a link at the bottom of the video description of another one of our shaker tables concentrating high quantities of galena. Thanks for posting and you can email me with any more questions or comments at MBMMLLC@gmail.com.

For a private person is it allmost impossible without engineering skills and background , a good shop and lathe machinery as well ,- to build a good working shaker table ..... And experience comes on top of it ........ He need all the data about the behavior of different size and material in the matrix of a water stream ..... The angle of the piticular settings ,- size ,- material ,- and average surface ( flaky or round etc. ) who are treated in a special water matrix .... may classified if necsessary ....as well .... If you set all these right ( feedingspeed ,- water pressure ,- angle etc. ) then you able to walk away ,- and controll just from time to time ..... It is a special conz. field ,- like froth flotation too ........ But if you good in it ,- you get quick your hand on the gold ..... 😂 You can write books about it ..... ( see only the "Taggert" ) We are open for any question to improve small scale mining ! And we are to old and experienced for BS

It amazes me how these tables have changed prospecting. 20 years ago, "concentrates" were black sands. Now guys are carrying 70% more material home and calling it "cons". Transporting and post processing 4 times the material to get 2% more gold defeats the purpose.
@EthanBonardel
@EthanBonardel 3 года назад
Well times change, I also carry more home and keep it all because it is all valuable. :)
@sylentxtinction2097
@sylentxtinction2097 3 года назад
@@EthanBonardel - I'm all for keeping cons... plastic buckets are cheap. What gets me, is the amount of material I see guys carrying from the site now. Some of what they call "cons" blows my mind. An extra run through the sluice would save most of them 70% or more on the carry.
@xenaguy01
@xenaguy01 3 года назад
At the time of your posting, gold was over $1925.00/oz. At that price, after processing 20 tons of 1 oz/ton ore in a week's digging, hauling an extra 500 lbs of "cons" to get an additional .02 oz/ton of gold is worth an extra $1,000. Worth it to some, I guess. 20 Years prior to your posting, gold brought less than $300/oz. So I'd say going for that extra 2% was probably not worthwhile. There are many old mines that were "worked out" between 20 and 100 years ago that are profitable now that gold prices have soared. It's even profitable to dig tailings piles from old digs because of the high price gold brings. That makes it well worth carrying 20x the "old" cons and processing them further.
