There is a benefit to the cooler temps when starting plants. They don't get so leggy. The seem to be a bit more squat and thats a good thing!!!! Man it sounded like way crazy!!! I hope there aren't any accidents on the roads where you live. I have taken your advice and have purchased half inch bubble wrap 2 foot by 100 foot and will use that in between my layers of poly on my hoop house and green house. I thought that would be my attempt at one of those trapped air cold barriers (does that make sense?) And I will definitely be getting a few of those window rams that open the window at a certain temp. Will look that up. Fantastic progress man!!!!!!

yes! that is very true, that's mainly why over the past ten years we've decided to transition from starting plants indoors under lights to directly starting everything in the greenhouse. the plants don't need to be hardened like indoor plants, and they are more sturdy with no leggy-ness to them. its been pretty wild weather lately, fortunately things are looking better weather wise lol. using bubble wrap is great way to add insulation value, our little greenhouse really benefited from it! the window actuators are pretty simple in design and fairly easy to set up, only costing about 25$ for smaller ones up to 45$ for larger ones. thanks for checking this one out!

@@Earthdwellershomestead I didn't know that you don't have to harden off the plants if you start them in the greenhouse. Did not think of that.

@NordeggSonya I mean if it’s a hot sunny location we move them there for a day and then plant but more often than not we put them directly from greenhouse in the ground with no issues. We also leave the doors open for the wind to blow through to allow natural hardening of the stalks to prevent weakness.

that's a true statement lol! winter can be depressing, working our lives away and not getting much sunlight or activity outside really drags on me. having a space to grow, cook, and experiment is almost vital for my survival anymore lol thanks for checking this one out man!
