Today we are making a DIY Grout cleaning solution! This solution will help clean and brighten your grout in moments, with no harsh chemicals!
For the solution, you will need:
⭐️ Baking Soda: amzn.to/3UD3FDy
⭐️ Hydrogen Peroxide: amzn.to/3ldgyIj
⭐️ Bowl or Cup
⭐️ Scrub Brushes (options below)
Small Scrub Brush: amzn.to/3IpCnwl
Electric Scrub Brush: amzn.to/4bVZYkZ
Grout Cleaning Brush: amzn.to/3TiPRPr
Regular Tough Scrub Brushes: amzn.to/49WT8Lc

⭐️ Rags
Instructions:
🔹Mix 1 part Baking Soda & 1 part Hydrogen Peroxide Solution
Create a loose paste with the solution
If the consistency is considered more liquid, add a small amount of baking soda and mix until the texture suits you.
🔹Pour the solution onto the grout or use a scrub brush to scoop it out onto it
🔹Using a scrub brush, mini hard brush, or electric scrub brush (great for lots of grout to clean or if you are unable to bend down), scrub solution into grouts in circular motions
🔹 Once you notice color change or the solution becoming dirty, use a wet rag or wet mop head and clean up the solution completely
Baking soda will leave a residue on tile if not removed completely.
🔹Let grout dry FULLY
🔹For best practices, reseal grout afterwards.
Now that your grout is clean and fresh, you can reseal the grout for best practices, however I have often times not done so… oops! 😬

I never knew people actually clean grout. So when i did the research, I decided Hydrogen Peroxide & Baking Soda would be the best grout DIY cleaner/recipe. BUT I everything I tried NEVER REALLY WORKED! I also tried Bar Keepers Friend (both soft & powder separately), OxiClean, Oxyboost, toilet bowl cleaner (only once on a small area whe I got desperate) and final Zep Grout Cleaner & Brightener. I prefer something natural since I have asthma and can't deal with toxic fumes (plus I'm NOT wasting my money on a product thats been tested on animals - even if it does work!). I tried leaving each cleaner on longer - I even bought an electric brush made specifically for cleaning grout. But nothing seems to work. The bathroom tiles are beige/grey. Its grout is beige (a short grout line behind the toilet shows its intended color). But since I rent this apartment (building was built about 4 years ago), the grout lines are grey to dark grey/brown. Recently, I've had to apply, brush, to nse the grout several times. So far, the best some areas have gotten is light grey. But I don't want to buy any harsh, toxic chemicals. No one deems to have any afvice for me 😢.

It may be that the original installer did not mix well or applied too much water in clean up causing color variations and the short gray line wasn't the intended color. Unless you've seen the grout lines as gray before it got dirty, I'd clean as usual and not spend more time on the color. You can throw a rug over it if you don't like the color.

@@shorteecake6644 Thanks so much for your response/advice! Makes sense since this apartment in general has many flaws & clearly shows it was made very poorly. The new Property Manager & Maintenance Man don't seem to have a clue. Thanks very much for shedding light. Take care! 💕👍
