I usually cut my own hair too. I decided to try this a few days ago and I love it. It turned out so well. I would recommed though, to snip the bottom ends, it just helps the hair to blend better.

The only thing with this haircut is that it makes the ends look thin at least for me. Also, if you flat iron your hair I don’t like how it looks. I guess I prefer a blunt cut. But if you do a blow out every time you wash your hair, then butterfly haircut is for you

It actually can be modified to take all of this into account, but that takes away the ease of the two ponytail cut.

I find if I feather a little at the ends instead of leaving it blunt it blends really well!

It's basically an angled front with an old fashioned type shag in the back. If you don't blow dry your hair out all the time, I don't know. But looks nice.
