I have long looked at the tents on the roof of the car. The price tag of course on them is not very humane. Winter stumbled upon a sweet offer to sell maggiolina but did not have time, bought before me. Apparently after that I got even more excited about the idea of a tent on the roof. What is all this for?
1. It is very cool not to think about what's under the wheels of a car. Dirt, gum, grass to the waist? It doesn’t matter if you spend the night in a car.
2. The speed of deployment of the camp.
3. Mobility, perhaps follows from the second.
4. Protection from creeping reptiles.
5. Warmer, drier, and quieter. The latter is debatable, sometimes you want to listen to the sounds of nature, but for this you can open the window if you really want to.
In general, I don’t know what will happen to me, but I decided to try. As they say the road will be overcome by the walking one. To begin with, I figured weight in solidworks, of the materials that I was going to do, it turned out 53kg. It seems optimistic. Ready-made solutions for 70 kilograms.
Next was the dilemma of the width of the tent. The fact is that I decided to make plywood. And its size is 1.22 * 2.44. 1.22 are two adults or three children. I decided not to suffer from gigantism and to make plywood as wide as possible. I measured the width of the sleeping bag in the car - it comes out 1.40. Just triple. So with the current family composition we are just. Two children upstairs, two adults downstairs.
I decided to make the length 2.30 due to the fact that I want to organize the entrance through a regular hatch. Could of course be shortened to 1.90 but the cuto would look.
