My mom used to scold me because I buy a lot of first aid/trauma items. Until 1 day, I lost my balance and cracked my head open. She was screaming because blood was pouring out of my head. Thank God for my trauma kit. QuikClot to the rescue.
I been in emergency medicine for a long time. And I also been building kits for decades now. Your kit is phenomenal. I got great ideas from your video.
I’m so glad! Yes a good organizational tool is key… we get in and out of this kit multiple times a week and it has been so helpful to keep it easy to find and easy to refill! Thanks for watching
I been watching a ton of RU-vid videos in order to build a really good first aid for my home, and this one is one of, if not the best vídeo of them all. Thanks a lot for the information Kassy, regards from Argentina 🇦🇷
Oh this is a great idea!! I have one of these sitting in my sewing room looking for a job. We're taking our camper out for the first time and I am so doing this.
Amazing video, I got sick and I live by myself. I couldn’t move from my bed and had to drive myself to the urgent care. After a got better I thought to myself to make me a medical kit at home, and I found your video! You helped me a lot and I appreciate each min from this video. Thank you and bless you and your family.
I'm sooooo glad this could hep you. Yes having things on hand and at home has really saved me a lot of time and money too. We live rurally and that always has made me nervous so . I always have believed if you prepare fo the worst . . . it is like to not happen. I really appreciate the watch and comment. God Bless You as well.
She went to grab the QuikClot and then called 911. The Quikclot stopped the bleeding within about 5 minutes. By the time the ambulance got there, it was 20+ minutes later. Thank God I had QuikClot, it saved my life. If I waited for the ambulance I would have bled out. Even the paramedics and ER staff were shocked on how fast QuikClot worked.
Lin! Thank you so much for watching and commenting. I’m glad you Found me and yes I have lists and links to things you may need in a blog post that I wrote . homemakingwithoutfear.com/1956/diy-home-first-aid-kit/ Finding the right storage container is key and this fishing tackle box really makes it a cinch. I also have free printable labels to help you out!
You are doing a great job with your videos! I love a variety just showing the parts of the lives that you tubers feel comfortable with. This is an expansive kit and it helps so much to see everything! I am definitely going to get my stuff together. It’s too late when something happens and we are not as prepared as we can be. May God bless you and your family and your RU-vid journey. I am also an enneagram 6!!!
Thank you for your question sorry I missed it in the mix! Any alternative H2 blocker would be good to have available. Types of H2 Blockers Famotidine (Pepcid AC, Pepcid Oral, Zantac 360) Cimetidine (Tagamet, Tagamet
Love your first aid kit set up and your video presentation. I have two range bags converted too first aid kits, but I will start a tackle box medical kit. One of my range bags med kits will go too my grand daughter. She is a registered nurse ! Thanks for your video !
Yes I have since done that and keep a vial and syringe in my kit…. Many people kind of blank out in an emergency and I worry they wouldn’t be able to think clearly to draw up and administer the appropriate dose…. Epi Pens make it fool proof but man they are expensive too!!!
This is really impressive kit 👍 I think I have a lot to learn, so subscribing for more good content like this. I blogged about my own natural medicine kit, but now I realize I covered just flu like illnesses only...
Thank you! Not every family needs to cover so much but we live so far from resources I feel more comfortable covering a wide range. So glad you will stick around 😊
Your right. Epj pens are so hard to get ahold of. I have so many allergies that put me into anaphylaxis, and it is impossible to get epi pens. And if I do, it has such a short shelf life. Usually 2 to 3 months.
Yes it’s crazy and after they re-branded everything it just made access more difficult. Thankfully no know anaphylaxis in our home but you never know. Since you work in medicine it might be possible and easier to GEt ahold of a vial of epi 1:1000 concentration not the 10,000. It’s super cheap you just have to teach your family or make sure you can draw it and administer it safely. Way more doses and way more cost effectively. Also lasts longer. Adults: 500 micrograms (0.5ml) of 1:1000 adrenaline solution

Hi Samuel- I share links for everything I purchased for this kit in a blog post that at that is linked in the video description. It’s Plano brand. You can also find it here: homemakingwithoutfear.com/1956/diy-home-first-aid-kit/
Site is down for maintenance will be back later today! Thanks for watching and sorry for the inconvenience. www.homemakingwithoutfear.com will have what you need!
No at that point the aspirin becomes less important and maintaining airway and circulation is top priority! Aspirin does no good in a person not breathing or pumping blood! If they pass out focus on keeping their airway open- side lying recovery position in case they vomit and call 911. If they stop breathing start giving rescue breaths (I have a cpr mask in my kit too) and if they become pulse less you gotta start compressions! Putting anything in the mouth of an unconscious person is NEVER a good idea. Could cause choking or aspiration. Thanks for your question 🙏
