Home made Bathing System for dogs - I find this method of bathing works on nervous dogs who hate the sound of a shower,
it also saves on water use, and you can choose the option of using rain water for extra softness.
It saves on shampoo usage, and also electricity too
So an all round energy saver. It gets the dogs ultra clean,
and saves discomfort to the dog by breaking down tangles and knots.
You shouldn't find the pump gets clogged with hair when you have a moulting dog in the bath but i you do, here;s what to do about that.
The knee high "pop socks" stockings slide over the base and up the pump, then the hair stays clinging to the outside, thought most of these pumps have a grid underneath,
and to clean mine, the black base comes off and then there is a piece one twists to remove any hair that is still clinging to it after you back back flushed it.
Though I find the back flushing tends to remove most of the hair.
I tend to put the stocking on if I'm doing a big hairy breed, and change for each dog to avoid cross contamination, and just throw them in the wash with the dog towels at the end of the day. once a week, I run a bath with vinegar instead of shampoo, and leave it running for 5/10mins to flush it really well. This keeps it clean. I wouldn't be without mine now.
