You can easily avoid editing YAML files by doing the automations on the proper section on HA. I didn't know a thing about the alarm panel, but was able to do it directly there instead of using yaml files. Thanks for the tips

Superb video, Gio!! And, exactly what I need. I had a recent break-in, so I'm keen on getting this system in place. Fortunately, I have all the devices you've used in the video, and a Home Assistant server up and running. So, hopefully I'll have some results very quickly. I'm going to look for additional videos in your series because I'm also interested in integrating motion detection alerts from my exterior cameras. Have you given any thought to integrating this with Alexa Guard? I'm not sure what value might be gained other than voice control for arm/disarm, but maybe you'll see some additional value. The paid Alexa Guard service adds a few nice features. I wanted to check out the motion and door/window security sensors you're using, but I didn't see a link in your comments as the video suggested. Again, thanks for a thorough project!! ~Frank

After 3 days I finally got this working. Just need some door sensors and a couple motion sensors and we good. Blink cameras unfortunately wont trigger any automations

Hello my friend. I have ESP01, MC-38 sensor and buzzer. When the door sensor generates an alarm, I want the buzzer to sound an audible alarm. How can I add these hardware into Home Assistant? Dou you have example code for this hardware?

Hi my friend excellent work and video,I would like to ask you if there is a way this alarm pad to trigger a sonoff switch device via philips hue,,maybe,after the time pass of arm or stay ,in order to arm or disarm my home alarm via key switch.I want to use sonoff as a key trigger for my alarm.

Very nice but here are some best bets from a Alarm Installer Professional. For it to be a "Legal" Burglary Alarm (At least for the state of Florida) all exterior Doors must have contacts and one trap as in a Motion Detector, Glass Break or Shock Sensor. Don't set the entry delay over 30 Seconds. A lot can happen within a minute. Avoid using delays on Motion Detectors, should only use the delay on the main entry doors such as the Front Door or Garage Entry Door or even both. If some one breaks in and they know you have a system like this they can cut the Power but you can use a battery backup. Since you're relying on the Modem to be the communication system I would stick a UPS on the Modem. Same goes for the Home Assistant Server. If you're using a Raspberry Pi as your Home Assistant Server you can use a SMP3 Power Supply from Altronix and set it to 6 Volts then a Buck Converter to drop it to 5 Volts. With a 4.7mah battery you should get a couple of hours of standby. I can easily think of a way to create Zones, Chime mode, Verbal Chime and Delay count down and Camera snapshots but there is one feature I noticed the Alarm Panel Integration is missing is Night Mode so it disables the Entry Delay. Probably could setup a Automation for that but would be nice to have it on the Keypad card.

Hi Gio I have had a go at setting up the alarm. All ok until i tested the door sensor, i armed the system but it didn't go off when i opened the door. The sensor reads the door opening. Any ideas why this would be? Greg

Hi Leo! if i decide to use the same motion sensors by 2 HA on separated RSPI4, does it work anyway or sensors can be managed just by 1 HA?

Great video, but the alarm is armed even if one door is open, it could be nice to be notified for example: " arming failed because one door is open" .is there any solution for that? Thank you for sharing this video.

Really nice video. However, if a burglar were to break in they could simply switch off mains power. To overcome this It would be great to show how to setup a battery powered siren on the side of your house.

Thanks for the information. After I have ad the notification for the alarm on yaml as per your video, my cell phone did not want to connect any more with home assistant. I then remove all the configuration in yaml but still the same problem. I even re-install the app. Please advise

Hi gio, thanks! i got everything working except the sonos speaker at the end. I have everything correct (i think). I have my ha ip then port then /local/ then the filename. But nothing plays from the speaker. I noticed the file you used you uploaded to a www folder (not ‘local’). I did that andni even made a folder called local too with the mp3 in it. No joy :( i also got some warnings about entitiys not having unique ids, is this because im editing manually? Thanks
