I just watched this and you explained very well..I will see if I can buy a pump like you use with 160 -180 out put..adding a good air filter at end of regulator hose seems great...just not sure what filter,type etc to buy..also is the clear hose 3/8 inside diameter? Thanks

I don’t remember at the moment if it was 3/8 ID. It would depend on what barb fitting you add to the pump. Definitely 160-180 pump. A basic inline air filter should do the job. Thanks again for watching

Hello thanks for watching. I do believe there is a way to add a pressure switch to the pump. I think it would also require some type of air reservoir. Just the amount of air in the line would not be enough for the pump to build pressure and shut off. I’m going to rebuild the unit this winter using some of the suggestions. Thanks again for watching

I see all the guys who make these do the same fatal design mistake. Please don’t do this design because it will kill you if you don’t plumb fresh air directly to your air pump. All these same design makes you breath the same air the battery is in . So if it off gases you get a chemical mix of whatever batteries you are using and then you breath the fumes. 😤

Ive done some preliminary testing with this pump and honestly i would just use two of them WITH an activated charcoal filter at the very least. Also, i feel as though any video talking about DIY underwater breathing should emphasize the enormous risk of lung over-expansion, because a lot of people building these things have never recieved any scuba training.

Thanks for watching. It’s pulling air directly from the surrounding air so it’s basically breathing greasy air. It’s oil free and just a diaphragm system. The one thing I would possibly change would be to section off the batteries from the air pump and put a raised intake on the system. This is the same style pump used in the air buddy so I’m very comfortable using it for diving. Thanks for watching

@us_angler1845
@us_angler1845 2 года назад
If you know what you are doing and do it safely yes it will get you down to 30 ft. If I was building it again I would step up to a 160 or 180 L/M. The 120 I have is enough to go 30ft but you can’t really exert to much energy or you will get gased. It’s just enough to keep up and allow you to still intake air with the added pressure

Are professional pumps certified in some way that the air is 100% clean and not harmful. Please be careful with your child breathing from that pump. Why not buy any low cost pump from Harbor Freight then and using it for this purpose? How does an inline filter get out all the potential harmful things from entering your body? Not saying this is not a good idea just asking logical questions.
