Kudos to her for doing an amazing job explaining what she was doing. i only had a little trouble with the knot and the rest was a breeze! she did a great job explaining how each strand is grouped and where it goes, she used multiple colors, i only used one which made it harder but it was still very easy to understand. the only problem was the measurements. there was many times i had to go back and re-measure everything even using the exact ones she was. that was kind of frustrating but once you figure out each foot and inch of cord translating to the braid they are some great reins!! thank you!
IMA doing a 'lil dance with your rhythmic under over under over under over... :) Thank you from Manitoba Canada for this VERY easy to understand Tut!!!
Brette, I am currently learning and would love to know the ins and outs of what you're doing here. Question 1... how long are the reins with the 29 ft cord? Also, what is the reason for putting them in the bathtub and hanging to dry? I subscribed and plan to watch many more tutorials! Thank you for all your help!
I love your work , very beautiful! Is there anyway you could do a video of back braiding I've been trying it but I think I'm having a little trouble. Thank you for your time!
I'm trying to make some reins and your video was great but i have no idea what measurements i need to use. How long does the flat braid need to be? How long could the round braid be? How much rope do you need total to braid everything?
Hi Brette, My name is Gary. the pattern you refer to as a mistake is the pattern I have been looking to braid for some time but cannot find instructions anywhere to do it. Can you explain to me how to do it? Thank you if you can and also if you are not able to.
Hello I have a question could you do the flat braid all the way but until the part where you hold the reins and then switch to the circle braid thing if so how?
hey there, im just starting up my own buisness in this whole paracord thing and i have no idea where to find clips that i can use that are durable like this, where did you get yours?
I ended up buying the buckles from Amazon. There cheep and durable. The clips I believe you can find them from Lowes and other stores. Such as home depot and tractor supply.
The exact one that I use seems to be out of stock but this one is from the same company and I think would do the trick just fine. (Sorry for the late reply, I'm not on RU-vid as much to check all the comments).. amzn.to/3c20dfX
I know late, but I'll answer some of yalls questionsI usually use 550- 650 paracord. And I believe she used a teal, turquoise, or lake blue for her reins. Depending on what you buy and where you buy. For me, I bought my paracord from Amazon, and it works really well. Werewolves is the brand I've been using. The size is 650 lbs 9 strands. It is a little thick if you want something a little thinner. I'd check your local hobby lobby for some 550 paracord if they have any.
Only thing missing is the two knots that are usually made in the round braid section for true barrel racing reins. Would love to know if it's the same knot you used in the transition or if it's a different knot.
Hi! Thanks for the cool video! Just a quick question: What length of paracord do you need per meter of rein. Eg if I want 2 meter reins, what length of paracord do I need to make them?
I had the same question, definitely a key piece of information that she failed to include. It's the only real flaw in the video, however it is a key flaw...
I have a lot of different social media accounts and am only one person, unfortunately I don't always see every comment. The PDF instructions that you can download explain the lengths I use for the reins. If you want custom sized reins you can figure out the different ratios for the flat and round braids. There is more to it than just one quick straight answer...how much of the reins do you want to be adjustable...how much space do you need for hand placement. I hope you have a great day and find reasons to turn that angry emoji into a smiling one :)
WHAT IS THE FLAT BRAID PATTERN CALLED THAT YOU USE ON THE ADJUSTABLE ENDS?????????? I CAN'T FIND THIS BRAID PATTERN ANYWHERE AND IT'S SERIOUSLY TICKING ME OFF!!!!!!
Hey Debbie, sorry for the extremely slow reply, if you haven't found it already the lengths are given in the PDF instructions that you can download (should be in the description of video)
