+Jl Sp Hey! Thanks so much for the lovely comments and great feedback. I am still trying to strike the right balance between the video not being too long but being slow enough and in enough detail. Not entirely sure what you mean by the zipper flap? In terms of the authentic centre squares, I have done some brief work on them and I believe that you need to attach the square to the facing/lining and jacket. Then only sew the ribbing to each section of the square so that there is still an opening insert the zip in. Then when you top stitch the square it will close the gaps on the inside. It is quite hard to explain, and wanted to try and keep the video down in terms of time, thus why it was not in this video. So glad that you found it of use, I will be trying to upload as much as possible. If you decide to make one then please tag me on social media, it would be so cool to see! Thanks again 😍

Hey Sarah, It completely depends on the feel that you want to create. I wanted a very out wear sturdy fabric so I chose this quite touch wool fabric. If you want the jackets structure to stand out then I would suggest heavier fabrics. Hope this helps.
