Oh wow, it just dawned on me how I can make this sort of a skirt with chiffon. If I do the underskirt a single circle and the chiffon a double circle, the chiffon will float nicely on top of the undershirt without the gathering to make the waist all puffy. !
I don't understand what your reference points for measuring the 80cm length is? Are you measuring from the first circle you drew (for the waist) or from the centre of the first circle (the corner of the fabric)? 2Pi*r=68cm i.e. radius of circle at centre which will be cut out for the waist=10.8cm . Then the length is 80cm distance away from the waist circle?
According to how much u want ur skirt length and on fabric u want to mart ur length from ur small waist circle here in video she measure the length first then she put the waist arc which got from small calculation so she mark total 91cm
rina2012ful At the waist I suppose so it isn’t too big. Although when you sew the zipper seam, you will end up with a smaller waist. So when you add the waistband, you will be back where it needs to be. And it won’t make that much difference at the zipper seam. You will only lose a few inches.
all garments need seam allowance - how big the seam allowance depends on you and what the garment is needed for. I like a 1.5cm seam allowance, although I do like a 3cm seam allowance on the zipper seam - as I like to do lapped zippers which need a bigger seam allowance. Look at the STITCH SISTERS youtube channel for the fastest lapped zipper tutorial.
