PART 2 - • DIY: How To COVER Any ...
This DIY was requested by so many of you and I'm thrilled to be finally doing it!!
Not only will I be hacking these amazing Balenciaga boots that Michelle Obama wore, but I'll show you how to make a TWO FOR ONE boot!!
#1 - An ankle boot that you can wear on it's own
#2 - A thigh high, extension that you can laYer on top!
This a SMART DIY.... If I do say so myself ;)
MATERIALS
ANKLE BOOTS- Mine are sold out but something like this could work!

(I highly recommend using a pair of ankle boots that are tight at the ankle and have a zipper. I will explain more about that in PART 2 of this video.)
4 WAY SEQUIN FABRIC - 1- 1.5 Yards is all you need.
If you can only find 2-way stretch, make sure to lay your pattern out so the stretch goes ACROSS your leg, not up and down
SHARP SCISSORS or ROTARY CUTTER- bit.ly/2GUAJTl
I would recommend a rotary cutter if you have one. It makes it all very easy. If not, just use SHARP scissors

as someone who went to fashion school i just want to give you a bit of advice for future projects and videos ! when sewing with stretch fabric its imperative that you use a zigzag stitch with every seam because a straight stitch won't have any give when you want to put it on your body, plus it sometimes will make the fabric pucker and look inexpensive !

I have thigh high boots that I bought while working at Saks Fifth Avenue around 1988. They are Anne Klein Couture. She also made Boot pants. Where the pants and shoes were one unit.. Thigh high boots have been around for a long time.

Love this tutorial! I'd love to accomplish something similar, but my challenge will be that I want to use a pattern. The detachable thigh high is less noticeable on the sequins, but I imagine with a pattern I'll have to be very conscious on making it look like it's a one piece boot if that makes any sense. Thanks for this video!

Amazing job Orly. I love thigh high boots and this is a nice compromise because it can be short boots to wear with jeans and thigh highs when I want to dress up.
