Sometimes easy projects make the best last minute gifts. Cute as can be, along with placemats to match and you have a great gift for lots of friends and family.

I’ve been sewing for decades, but I love these simple little projects BECAUSE they are simple. Thank you for these. I’m thinking make sets of four to eight so every one has their own little bundle of paper napkins, versus providing cloth napkins, especially for those who have children and you don’t want to have to wash cloth napkins all the time. Or maybe make it a little larger to be able to hold more napkins as a nice alternative to the metal ones normally used for tables.

That's a great idea Barbara. I'm sure the'll be very popular😁

I have never see a napkin holder like this. The ones I have used (and filled with paper napkins in the past) set on the table and held many napkins (to be used by everyone at the table). Most of them were made out of metal. Your napkin holder would be nice for a picnic, or to have on hand when I have to eat at my desk. This is a wonderful idea. This napkin holder will not break anything if it should be knocked off the table. Thank you.

I have a big plastic one at home too Arvetta. This one would be great in the car too😁

It was really useful knowing how to finish off the button properly - I don't like hand sewing - I normally use my machine!!

You’re one of my fave sewing creators, the fact you’re Aussie, is an added bonus 😋. The projects are PERFECT for ADHDers that get bored easily/quickly & we can make batches at a time. I will be making these for my craft stall & Xmas gifts for friends and family. Thank you, you’re awesome 🥰🥰

Thank you for this idea Christine - beautifully explained, as usual, and with great sewing tips. My husband has suggested that anyone living in the north of Scotland, like us 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿, needs to make a small modification if using outdoors - attach it to a house brick, so it doesn’t blow away 😮 Very best wishes from a Granny in Aberdeenshire - you can teach an old dog new tricks. 🥰

I think your husband has a great idea there. Now we just need to cover the brick with pretty fabric😁

Question for you, Christine! Do you prewash cotton fabrics before sewing them up, lining them with interfacing stabiliser or batting?
@ChristinesHomeAffairs
@ChristinesHomeAffairs 16 дней назад
Cathy, the only time I prewash fabric is if it's used for clothing, or if it's secondhand and smelly😁

Well Christine. I’m 70 and you taught me an easy way to sew on a button. Never too old to learn lol. I love this little napkin holder. That would look lovely on a buffet table. I have lots of family over on Boxing Day. Do you think you could create a cutlery holder that would match the napkin holder. That would look really cute. Thanks Christine. I hope you are winning your table tennis. 😉❤️

Thanks Christine. We start our matches on Saturday afternoon. I did a placemat with a cutlery holder some time back that I think might hold a napkin too😁
