We definitely need more haltech videos. I didn't know how to upload the basemap. For b series the s300 is pretty straightforward, nsp software takes some getting used to.
Definitely make more of these videos. I would love to see how to run coil on plug using the distributor trigger and the Halltec 550. Liked, subscribed, and will DEFINITELY be buying from humble for all my race car needs.
Super helpful for someone like me that's just looking to start playing with tuning their car on a new ecu. Appreciate ail thre rambling and thoughts put into the video. Was totally worth watching. Keep up the great videos man.
In my R32, I can’t get it to idle at 14.7 no matter what I do. Currently, the target is set to 12.8. Anything above that and it starts misfiring violently. I verified all engine, TDC, sensor and injector settings were correct and I can’t get a stable idle at 14.7. I’ve accepted that 12.8 is what the engine likes and that’s where I’ll keep it until I figure it out somehow or take it to a specialist. I’m thinking it could be because of either the Idle Control or O2 Control PID settings.
Love the video it was great. The main thing I would change/mention comes from when you set up the engine cc. Don't just put 1800, 2000, 2200 etc. Make a habit of taking and multiplying your bore x stroke. Doing this will give you the exact cc which is never just straight 1800 etc. Will also help with setting up engines that have been bored (IE a gsr that's 84.5mm Instead of stock bore) or engines that have been stroked/destroked.
Cool video! But at around 21 minutes when talking about injector flow at given pressure, your not making it clear that its about pressure Differential. It the engine is boosting 1 bar, and the fuel base pressure is constant at lets say 3 bar, the effective flow rate of fuel is given at the pressure differential, in this example 2 bar. Most fuel systems work with a 1:1 fuel pressure regulator, meaning it targets the same pressure differential truthout the operation of the engine ainming easier and more predictable tuning. So now tith a 1:1 fpr, if base fuel pressure is 3 bar and the engine is making 1 bar of boost, the fuel line will be at 4 bar, retaining the 3 bar pressure differential seen by the injectors, hence having the same flowrate.
@humbleperformance Care to share oem distributor settings I can’t get the Oem distributor to work getting home sync trigger count error . Car runs fine on the Hondata. Tried the settings in the video with no luck .
So i can’t use it on my stock k24a2 tsx? I’d like to easily convert to cable throttle.. New ecu is 500-700.. might as well go haltech if i can use the elite 550 …
I'm currently running my d15b7 with d16z6 head on a stock p06 without vtec. I just need to wire it and tune it. Im thinking about getting the elite 550 diy pin kit from you guys. Do you guys have a basemap for high compression NA d15? If not could I use a tune for a very similar engine setup like the d16 and correct the displacement? Then use closed loop learning to learn how to make changes? I don't really want to pay someone for a dyno tune, I want to learn how to tune it myself NA first before going boosted. I want to do low compression piston/rod/turbo setup down the road but for now I just want vtec working and a proper tune/ecu.
does this only work for k series or any honda ? i have a p28 ecu right now but im goimg to build my d series new to the honda a friend recommend me to this video and haltech 550.
@Dr. Mantis Toboggan i can save up for it im just wanna be able to do it right im already spending to build why not get a software that can benefit as well right?
Its all just changed - they released firmware 3.0 just today and the new nexus software - for FREE - on ANY elite ecu - downloads are live now - and their channel has a "how to convert to nexus firmware and software" its a TONNE faster to connect and datalog!!!!
@@humbleperformance Yup yup - refresh - it might not have been visible to you at that time yet - its on their channel in the description for the elite nsp release from 550 upwards to 2500 just upgraded my 2500 to nexus :)
Okay finished the video, I don’t even own an H series but it was a bunch of basics to look out for! Will definitely buy turbo kit for my RSX from you guys when the time comes.
