I'm curious to know why did you use 2 "four box cubes" for the back wall instead of using another "eight box cube"? I'm asking because I want to try this but if I can buy 3 units instead of 4 it will make life much easier lol.

That's really cool. If you end up having to pull out super tall nails again, you can place a fat chunk of scrap wood next to the nail, and use that to lever the hammer. I think I'm going to try this build in my studio. Thanks!

@@sarahharris5478 difference with standing on them and putting a bed on them is that the weight is spread between all the supports and not focused on just one. Which makes it effectively "lighter" (like holding something in one hand vs two)
This is super cute but I feel like with my weight I'd probably end up having the mattress fold in the middle and I'd sink down in the empty space. If I made something like this I'd pretty much have to have middle support haha
I had the exact same white utility shelf seen in the beginning, I turned it into a storage bed by laying it horizontal, add board and legs underneath and flip open doors on top. I used two units to build a queen bed leaving some spacing in between.

Love it! I was going to do the exact same thing for bed frame but with 4X Kallax cause I wanted it lower but then I concerned if it won't support my weight LOL but you're right that we can always use hard wood for a better support. Nice video! Keep it up
I've been meaning to fix up my bed (it was bought used for my brother (not the mattress!) then it was thrown in my room when he moved out) and it's a really brown...but I think I'm going to do this instead!!!! It came out so beautiful! I'd probably use the platform thing from my old bed tho...since I am on the heavy side, and I do tend to move around a lot....and I'll probably create alittle hammock thing for my cat using the platform thing from my bed and a small weed section...jk on that...but it is perfect for alittle privacy omg I JUST LOVE THIS SO MUCH. kinda bummed I didn't think of that xD
great work and gives me ideas for more storage. also I think this video should he inspiring to girls and women as its nice to see the woman doing the labour work I say this because where I'm from in the UK they aspect men to do all this kind of work and would never do it them selves which is a shame as when you see the finished product it gives you a good feeling that you have built what's in front of you more woman should be like this. again great work and thanks for some ideas.
You should have done the draping above the window and put the head of the bed there. On the window itself you could have used a black out roller shade for weekends you wanted to sleep in. If you want your closet back, this is the best way to go.

I made this bed awhile ago too I love it so so much when I have friends over I make a bed under the bed I sleep their and she sleeps on the top also so so much storage I am so glad I made this bed I would recommend it

I am going to do this. I have no space against my walls, because the heater wraps around the whole room, so I want to my room from the inside out, and this is a great center piece. I will just have my shelves facing out ward all around, thanks.
