Nice video. I have made lots of pipe shelves. I find that customers prefer ward fittings being used, as they don't want to see the, China, in all the fittings. Ward can be purchased from most heating companies, or other contractors.

Well done! Good instructions given. The vertical pipe needs to fit snuggly in the wood, right?...otherwise the shelf could rock back to front, if there's an uneven weight on it. I'm going to put liquor bottles on mine, so I want this to be tight and hold the shelf level. thanks again.

May I ask you where you got your cutting mat from? Im looking for one, but I want something durable and not cheap. Also are you using a metal type peg board for your wall behind you or is it wood? Im wanting to build my garage and want to do it right the first time. Thank you for your time and awesome builds!

Great video. Thanks. I'm just having some trouble getting the pipes tight and in the right direction (I'm actually building a C table). I'm in Peru and I had these pipes cut to size. Do you think there's a problem with the screw part or is there a trick to getting these things tight and in the right direction? I hope you can help. Thanks!

Ursula KöPá Next time, try some plumbers tape, or thread-lock such as loctite brand.. so if the angle doesn't match where the threads are tightest, you can make sure they stay strong and don't move. Temporary thread lock or tape works well if you'd like to be able to take it apart for moving the piece, but red or permanent thread lock will really make it stay put. Hope that helps a bit. I like it. Around here, the black iron pipe is not cheaper than the galvanized pipe, and looks nowhere near that clean. Always has a lot of chipping paint.

+Mr. Fix It Jackson, Mississippi. I've always bought the galvanized ones, because they don't chip. (Well, I buy black iron ones for pipe clamps). I just give the pipes a good wash with some dish soap and then spray paint.

+Bruce A. Ulrich try out some mineral spirits on the black oxide pipe. I use it for mine and it works well. I Clear coat them before install as well to keep from chipping
