This is an inexpensive and portable bow mount set up for larger transducers that can not be mounted on a bow mount trolling motor. It can easily be mounted anywhere on a boat or kayak. The shaft length is to be determined by the size of the watercraft. I added a standard depth collar and also used marine goop to seal the end caps but forgot to mention it in the video. The total cost was approximately $15 (not including the transducer).

Do you ever plan on making a wireless throttle control like the ones from Wireless Trolling Pro?

Probably not. I did some work on that project but I want to be hands free. You need a fob to operate it.

Thanks Justin. I have a trolling motor on the bow that I would normally attach a transducer to the prop head. I changed my fishfinder and the transducer is too big to mount on the trolling motor. That is why I made it portable.

@@Aksmaniyak I see, but then why don’t you mount it to the transom please? In other words, Do you prefer the transducer to mount on the bow or transom? Currently I have one mounted on the transom and I’m thinking if i should put it on the bow like you have done, when doing bass fishing. Thanks!

This is mounted on a boat. I have an outboard motor on the transom and there is no room. Bass fishermen like to have the trolling motor on the bow with a fishfinder.

I just did the samething with my little two man bassboat. I wanted to use PVC but like you, I found EMT was a much better fit. I had to run the wiring outside of the pole because there is not enough room to run the wiring to my Garmin inside the pipe. I took a few trips to Lowes to all find the parts to make everything work. It's as solid as a rock and I now have sidescan on my boat.

This is fantastic. I was out at my boat today with a piece of 1” conduit in one hand and my phone in the other looking at the minnkota transom clamp wondering if I could make a bow mount for my msi ducer. Found your video and bam! You built exactly what I’m thinking of. Well done!
