Wierd I made one of these today before I watched your video we had similar ideas. I cut off the screw top and welded a fitting into the piston I didn't have a lathe I used a hand drill. Works great got my injectors to fire at 2200 psi.
One thing to bear in mind when build one of these, keep the process clean as possible as you don’t want to introduce dirt fragments into your nicely cleaned injectors.
the idea is excellent, there as ways to build this setup that there is viewers. on many jacks, the extension nut is a part by itself so your arrangement should be modified but the overall of the setup is the same
Hi Kevin, very cool video and thank you for making it , your funny and right to the point that is cool, thanks again you give inspiration to many i am sure, i am going to build one now thanks to you. I found a bottle jack on Craigslist for $8 and a 3000 psi guage on amazon for $10 : ) !!! Have a nice day !
Nice job, But it does not let you know how much return fuel that comes back into the tank ,May be you could T off the fuel line some how, Thanks' for showing the assembly
I did tig weld it, with regular mild steel, The fittings were high grade hydraulic types and I think that had something to do with the sheen combined with the wirebrush I used to kind polish them,, Thanks for the feedback ..
this looks great but I need 240 bar or about 3500 psi. Any idea if a 3 ton jack be capable of this? I'm stuck in Hungary with some diesel injectors off my motorhome that need testing. I mixed up springs and shims while cleaning. That's the only thing holding me back from a vacation in Italy! everything here shut down about a week before christmas and goes until early January. agggghghghgghgh The one guy that is working this week is a machinist.
It was an 1.5 ' nut that would not allow the piston any upward travel,, it could be anything, a piece of pipe with a washer welded in it,, all that needs to occur is restrain the piston then all the pressure comes out the fitting.I will work on a bill of materials and post it soon...
I have build a diesel injetor poptester...i cannot get to pressure up ...and i have notice that diesel returning ithe to reservoir....the Jack was new and never used.... please help me... thankyou
Uhhh yea,, if not for the piston it would not develop pressure, the seals around the piston are stronger than the O rings that keep the oil from leaking out.
@@Bartspar68 Don't need piston, I made one from a 2 ton bottle jack and no piston in it been working for 8 years now. Nice set up though, impressed with the way you welded everything and put the bottle for extra fuel hanging above it, I don't have reservoir bottle for mine, I have to fill it up often.
@@cppower14 of course, in fact ll other videos here , on this, do away with the piston; the inner tube keeps the pressure; this is just another way at it.
