Nice execution, but reservoir is way to small, you need at least 10 liters, plants will need extra light, a small led lamp would help. No soil technic with irrigation mat textile would have been better given the location and the space available.
Hi, The wall system itself is functioning great, the waterproofing is working well and the irrigation is good. I think I made an error in choosing ferns as they don't seem to be happy with the light levels. I will be replanting with some trailing plants such as creeping jenny in the spring to see how they do.
@@kirtidoctor Thanks! yes I had considered adding a grow light to the very top as that is the least lit area but couldn't plan a good enough cable route for the power
You need to check the HEAD of the pump. The " head" specification of the pump tells you how high (max. head) the water will be pushed by the pump. Go for a bit more head than you actually need. Aquarium pumps are often used for this type of green wall . If you live in a place with hot summers , make your water reservoir at least FOUR times the size ( volume ) shown here , because if the water level drops below the pump inlet ( dry sump ) you will burn out the pump. Evaporation in summer can be more than one may think. Check reservoir often to make sure that it`s topped up..
