In this video I show you how to make a diy intex pool fountain using pvc. This project was so easy to make anyone can do it. The kids love this added fun for the pool.

Ordered an 18ft Bestway pool from Academy yesterday and picking it up tonight. Waiting for the new pump and sand filter and supplies to arrive. Told my 17yr old son I want him to make this for it and he's all for it! So easy! Thanks!

Yes I made one about 10 years ago. I have mine higher and extending out into pool. So you can actually go underneath it. Put a cut off valve on top so you can shut off while in pool. Another thing about this . It will cool down your pool at night several degrees more . Than not doing it . Pressure is regulated on how much you close return valve off

Awesome!!! I got home from Lowes with the pvc, cut and drilled and glued and Amazon showed up with the fittings. Maybe an hour, two at the most. However, when I glued the pieces with the holes, I thought I aimed them high enough but the water came out at a lower trajectory than I wanted. My wife loved it, but I wasn't satisfied. Back to Lowes, only a few more parts, drilled a few more holes, drilled them at various angles (but still along a straight line) and aimed them more upward. Funny part, I didn't put any glue on the new pieces and they are staying together just fine. LOL!! My wife scolded me for spending for money but she loves the modified version even more.

My kids would love this I might add it in. I’ve recently done the pvc conversion and skimmer and loving both. I find I’m constantly adjusting the flow on skimmer bc it will suck to much or not enough. I never thought to turn off pvc and just use skimmer, that will probably solve my problem I’ll try it. Thank you for mentioning that.

Yeah that way works great for me but when I vacuum I close off the skimmer and use the inlets side. Cover one port and get awesome suction.

Beautiful. Exactly what i was looking to make. Down here in South Alabama our 18' Coleman has heated up quite a bit. I wonder what slots instead of holes would do? Maybe shoot out more of a flat, fanned out stream of water. Seems like that might escape more heat. I could be wrong though. I may experiment if the scrap PVC my dad has laying around is the same size.

Mine drips a lot...like the holes aren't smooth enough in the pipe...ive ran the bit through the holes a few times to make sure, and sanded over the holes to make it as smooth as possible... it's helped a little

You should try both since you’re using PVC you can test it before you glue it

Do you leave your pool up year round? I want to add a Hayward skimmer but we’re moving soon and I’m worried the skimmer will damage the pool while stored. I thought about taking the skimmer off but I’m not sure we could get it put back on in the right spot and that the cut out part might rip while stored.

Hi. How far do you think I can run a pvc pipe from my pump on an above ground pool? I have a deck built around it but I wanted to have 3 streams shooting out from the deck. I would probably have to run 5 or 6 ft of pvc. Can the pump handle running the filter and the streams? Thanks for your help

As long as you have a strong pump I’m sure it would be fine to run long pvc pieces 👍🏼

Hey buddy, great videos! I just bought my Intex pool and it should be here next week! I am going to be copying almost all of your suggestions. On this specific video however, I cannot find the right hose pieces, the 2 shorter hoses you mentioned that are like the sand filter ones. All the ones I see on Amazon look really thin and cheap. What brand are the ones you have?
