DIY Mopar kick down cable with 30 bucks worth of Bicycle parts! Modeled after popular aftermarket cables for way more money!
I have bought cables from Lokar and others for the kick down linkage replacement on Mopar automatic transmissions in the past. With a little ingenuity and some spare parts you can make your own for a fraction of the price!
Watch till the end when I share what I might do differently next time!

Excellent idea bicycle brake cable is plenty strong in the application... Even the Lokar cable use adjusters with Allen bolt for set screws...this is why I collected so many transmissions in the 90s got a ton of levers to modify as I wish or need. Another thing bicycle parts are cheap cause I scrap them all the time!! Get them for free! You can by it all online search cable repair...great video man I really enjoyed it!

Thanks! Now that I did it once, I'll definitely do a better job of the next one. I kinda did it on a whim so I grabbed whatever parts I could in my small town.

Great video man! I always thought mopar kickdown was a poor design. Especially when changing from 2-4 barrel or intakes. If its not adjusted correct it will burn up the trans. I learnt this the hard way. I got a buddy with a 70 Cornet that will have to copy your design. Great video. Nolan.

very nice....maybe slip a piece of small shrink tubing on the cable down by the transmission kick down lever ...split the heat shrink tube and place up near the lead piece..then shrink it down,,,,@6:50 on your video
