Honestly Katelyn, your first Christmas arrangement looks much nicer than the Kirkland version. You are so creative and talented! Thank you so much for sharing.
Katelyn, you've been missed! Glad to see you back here. Your projects are always super cute and easy to replicate. The materials you use are easy to find and always affordable. Thanks!
Katelin this centerpiece is gorgeous, I just think it looks very high quality. Love the candles. I have a roll of birch wood paper, so I will cover my candles. I think you nailed the Kirkland’s piece. You need a rotary cutter/blade to cut fabric, also a cutting mat. It will change your life. Using the fabric sure is easier than painting it. Lovely! The wreath turned out really good. Thank you for sharing your creativity and inspiring us.
Both of your projects turned out nicely! The centerpiece is, in my opinion, better than Kirkland's over-priced decor. The Merry and Bright sign looks wonderful. Love that little wreath.
Oh my gosh, I was babysitting and watching this video. The little girl(4yrs old) was running around behind the sofa and she caught a glimpse of the sign you were working on and she stopped and said, “oooh nice”. So I made her one for her room door. She is so happy about it. I just had to share that with you.
Hmm, her home color theme seems to celebrate more natural or neutral colors. Red would be too loud if she wants it to match the rest of her decor. Burgandy would be a compromise, but she's loving the wood stain.
Katelyn I think your first project looks even better than the one from Kirklands! Merry and Bright maybe could be stained a cherry red for a Christmas-y pop of color but still that natural finish. Love everything you make. So beautiful!
The Merry and bright sign is beautiful! Try adding some small clusters of white berries or if you can find them some juniper berries. But it is stunning as is! You are a very talented crafter! Don’t doubt yourself!
I am loving all of your projects! I think if you used a very dark gray on the letters it would pop more, but I actually like how it looks like this. It has the same color tone as the bow and it all ties in together that way.
I love your Dollar Tree bucket craft the best,it's something I will be making. And also the framed wooden sign.I will do that for my dining room using a picture frame I already have. I love your sweet nature.
Hello Katlyn! I love them both! They turned out great! I would have painted the merry and bright black. It would be a nice contrast with the grey and white. Hoping you have a gloriously beautiful and blessed weekend!
I absolutely loved both pieces!!!!!! I think painting the Merry and Bright either red and then swapping the wreath bow for a red bow or painting the words Black to pick up the black in the background would have looked nice too.
These pieces are impressively gorgeous Katelyn, especially when you take into consideration the fact that most of the supplies came from DT. Not sure I can pick a favorite but the transformation of that blue DT tub is amazing. Thanks so much for sharing and I hope you have an awesome family weekend. 🤗 #kindnessmatters
Really great job on that first project. The only thing you might add is a small focal point, something simple and consistent with the other materials. The Kirkland tub contained one ornament, a ball of wrapped twig, which I think adds to the overall effect. When the eye is drawn to a single detail, it adds motion, interest, and depth to a display.
They turned out just great. Well done. The tub with the candles is really a good likeliness to the one you showed us.good job. I like your picture frame one. The idea with the lighter check is lovely. Thank you for sharing.
I think if you went over the edges of the Merry & Bright with a paint pen in white or even did white stitching around it would be cute! It would also give depth. Or alternatively you could use black sharpie to outline and then white paint pen to do stitching lines.
you never disappoint Katelyn! I LOVE the basket. Birch is gorgeous. For the merry and bright I would try a thin line of white around the outline to help it pop 😘
I think painting the Merry and Bright white would make it pop. I loved all of these! My favorite was the three candles. I might have added something in the one candle holder to make the candle look taller. The other two candles are closer to the top of the glass.
I like the candle display it looked so good. I think you were right about the Birch candles. I just takes it over the top. Maybe something with a hint of gold, copper, or bronze mix in with the truffle brown just a little that it might catch the light without being shiny. I do like the look of the mod podge sign.
This is one of my favourite things to do, get inspiration from stores and then redoing them cheaper or making it my own version I love your candle holder from DT items, I made something similar recently from nature. The first DIY is definitely my favourite. Glad you painted over the blue!
Katelyn, there is a component you can buy for floral arranging ,oasis anchor pins ,they are green plastic anchor pins with prongs that stick into the floral foam (wet or dry) then you can apply glue dots or get the floral glue tape by the roll and affix to the bottom of your vases and the top of your frog and it anchors everything together very well ! You should be able to find these at any floral supply or craft supply store ! You can buy them wholesale from Oasis floral supply by the case ! Hope this helps in future projects
Ooohhh My.....Look at you "show off" 😂😘. That centerpiece is absolutely gorgeous!!!! & the birchwood candles...PERFECT!!! 😍😍💜💜💜 LOVE the sign too! Great job girl! 😙💜👍👏👏👏
Hi Katelyn, love all your projects - always great inspiration. I suggest a little dry brushing of black around the edges of the "Merry & Bright" would make it stand out more but keep with your neutral theme.
Both pieces are awesome. I love the second one and think it is perfect, but if you wanted a bit more pizzazz you could paint a layer of Modge Podge over the sentiment and sprinkle on some clear or iridescent glitter. But I love it how it is.
Love the look alike crafting from higher priced stores and even online. I am usually working on a budget and cannot pay the high prices found in Hobby Lobby, Pottery Barn , Kirkland and others. Would love for you to do more of these videos!
Both projects are gorgeous! I also LOVE Kirklands. For the Merry & Bright, you could paint it a deep crimson, like the darker holly berries. The color would pop, but not be as stark as a traditional Christmas red. Just a thought.
Your DIY looks fabulous!!! I would have painted the Merry & Bright black. I do like the wood stain color, like you, but you're right it just doesn't pop off the frame like you'd like.
Love them! Maybe detail with black paint or marker around the letters to just give it a punch of color to go with the buffalo check!! Have a blessed weekend!!😁😁😘😘
I like your versions Katelyn! I like both projects equally, I like how you painted them. I think the tub looked like a dark copper also. I also like your Merry & Bright as it is. You do good work! :)
Very good video. Loved the projects you chose. I'm a Kirkland shopper too. Last time I was in the there it cost me $400.00. o bought a big mirror and a pumpkin wagon, among other goodies. Had a ball!!!
Very cute. I've painted some LED candles to look like birch. It works and if you want to you can use DT candles. I used some wax LED candles that I already had.
I say do a light watered down red over the letters, add some red berries somewhere, maybe on the wreath just to brighten it up a bit.Very pretty DIY's, as usual! You never disappoint.
You hit the ball out of the park on the first one, Katelyn. I can’t even tell the difference on the first one at all. I agree that the Merry Christmas needs to pop off, so I might have gone with a black letters with white chalk lightly brushed over it. I love the bows at the top of the wreath but since they were light and neutral it might have been better to have them have a little pop of color (like a soft red) that you could repeat in the Merry Christmas lettering below. Overall, you should feel very good about what you created and shared with us!
As always, your projects are so awesome! I have taken brown and black liquid shoe polish mixed together and use as stain. It is very close to the color of my pine cones. Just an idea for you. 🌹❤
Good morning sweetie. Your centerpiece looks so much better than the experience one. I love how you made the tub look like metal. Your wall hanging is gorgeous. I love the wreath. Definitely going to make that one. Have a fabulous day my friend.🍭🎁🍭🎁🍭
