For a work table, it's actually beautiful. So sturdy and large enough for any future project you take on. I like that there's room to push it out of the middle of floor if you need the space. Very nice and nicely done!
Now in the choice of work tables, you selected the perfect one for that shed. 👍🏼👍🏼 Also, I would love to have that for a kitchen island...smaller...but yeah!!! Thanks for sharing, and providing the pdf for those interested. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
I was building several large work tables with similar wood. My solution was to lay the table tops on the floor and sand with a rented floor sander. This made the whole process go very quickly.
This is the simplest table ever and will definitely make a few of these (dining, his and hers). I love this. This came out beautifully. Thank you for the plans!
What an awesome build just in time for the season of giving, nice and sturdy and those pocket screws are up for the punishment and whatever you throw at it. Great stain it just pops and the casters smart for such a behemoth for one finger movement, Thanks for Sharing Stefani.
great build! you can never have enough work surfaces. great idea using your weight to keep the boards aligned (though a biscuit, dowel, or domino would have forced alignment)
Beautiful table. I wonder if retrofitting the table top using z clips rather than pocket hole screws would give your top some room to flex a bit as wood expands and contracts over time. The seems are pocket hole screwed so if it were to crack in the future it would probably be in the middle of a board and not the seem itself. Love your channel, you do good work. The shed looks great!
Have to say that your work table is one of the best looking of the many that I have looked at. I’m currently working on building a mobile table that will hold my Dewalt 735x planer, Dewalt miter saw and router table. While space is limited in our garage with vehicles inside, I will rotate the tools as needed on the planned 54” wide and 27” deep table, having one on top and the other two on a bottom shelf that I will be adding. Like your table, I’m using 2x10 pine on the top (and the bottom shelf), 2x4 aprons, but then doubling up 2x4’s for the legs. I’ve been overthinking exactly how to do the framing though. Being sturdy was the first consideration, so I looked at all the possibilities for connecting the aprons (inside the legs, outside, inlay, etc. etc.). Since I do have a Kreg Pocket Hole jig, I decided to do the 1/4” inset after seeing your video, as it seems the 2 1/2” screws and glue make it plenty sturdy. That simply looks great and that is a consideration that I don’t want to overlook if at all possible. I won’t be staining it but it will still look great with all the 2x material being planed down. Thanks for the video and the entire workshop series! I had given some thought to doing the inset, but your video showed how it would look and demonstrated that it would be sturdy.
This table is awesome! Thank you Stefani for sharing. I’m closely following you from France and already copied two of your tutos! This table is the next one :) Quick question : can you let me know why do you apply wood stain and after water-based polyurethane ? Isn’t wood stain enough? (Sorry if this is a stupid question but in terms of finishing/painting/protecting I’m still trying to understand)
In this video, as well as the countertop video, I noticed that when using the table saw, Devin chooses to not use a push stick when reaching the end of a board. Wondering why?
Hi...new to your channel...great looking table. Quick questions..name and model number of your 48"/24" table clamps and which Kreg jig is that...which model number. New to the woodworking realm. Thank you
You didn't allow for wood movement when you pocket screwed the entire top down to the frame. Luckily the pocket hole system is so weak that the table top will slowly tear itself apart from the frame over time.
Whenever I need a home project I look at your site first. You have some incredible DIY stuff. We need a table just like this only not as big. I will use the plans adjusting for size to make a roll-out table in our laundry room and maybe post a finished pic.
