My husband passed away 7 years ago. I still miss him. The banter between you two reminds me of how my husband and I went back and forth as we upgraded our home over the years. When you grow old together and have these memories they will mean SO much. And you will have some great stories to tell the kids and grandkids ♥

What a lovely laundry room! May i suggest a pull out shelf under each of the washer and dryer to set a basket so nothing falls on the floor? Also keep in mind all of the electrics are susceptible to moisture! So please create ventilation and a water or vapor barrier! I love everything you do here! So beautiful!

I am redoing our kitchen and I change my mind and can't decide on colors, placement, and functionality all the time. I love the choices you've made in all your rooms. I would put the sink in the centre with the tap in the corner of the sink, so it doesn’t get in the way of the cupboard door and also makes emptying mop buckets easier. Also underneath the washer and dryer before the cupboard underneath, it would be great to put in a pull out shelf, almost like a drawer in which to sit the laundry basket.

I love my built in ironing board...it fits between the studs...attaches to the studs once the drywall is in and it looks like a little cabinet...you can even store the iron and spray starch :). But do make sure you choose a location near an electric outlet! Laundry looks fabulous!

@@mytinyestate you should. I almost wrote this same comment. My grandmother had one in her turn of the century old Victorian home. They were very popular back then and in houses up until the 1940’s. They are super handy as you just open the cabinet and fold out the ironing board. I always wished I had one.

Ah flat packs and reno’s test any relationship. We are in the middle of renovating our laundry and not only do I love the colour you used but also how you’ve raised the washer and dryer. Did you have to add extra support to take the weight of the washer when full of clothes and water. I have very poor balance and suffer with vertigo, so for me this would be so helpful. The tip about filling the edges of mdf with wood filler is genius. Can’t tell you how many coats of primer I have used to achieve that.

We used a kitchen cupboard below it so imagine the weight of a heavy stone worktop and other things… the washing machine is an equivalent weight! We did add another piece of timber on the top just to frame it which helped a little more

If you’re looking to paint those smooth edges of the IKEA cabinets, I can recommend Benjamin Moore’s Stix primer. Lightly the surface first, then Stix, then your surface paint. Did this on my Ikea cabinets in my bathroom two years ago and still going strong!

Amazing! Yes we had professionally painted ikea cabinets before and we notice they still scratch on the more touched areas and being a laundry that we were going to be constantly using it we just wanted to avoid marks but we will be using your advice if we decide to paint it, thanks!

I wonder if there is a good space for a folding table. I would think on a hinge so it can drop or fold when not in use. I just hate hauling clean laundry to another room to maybe get folded. I'm glad you got this accomplished before bringing the baby back, Lord knows!!!

Yessss folding table! We do have enough space on the side of the sink to fold but I wonder if a folding table is a lot bigger

@@mytinyestate I was thinking about a plank of wood on a foldable hinge. If there is room across from the washer dryer on that opposite wall. That way if you aren't folding lots of stuff it can just be flipped down against the wall. Other thoughts would be something that covers the sink to give you more folding room.
